Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

It has always been a massive goal of mine to write a song and perform it at The Bluebird Cafe and my dream came true in 2023.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I have been influenced by so many artists but my favourite singers are Whitney Houston and Shania Twain.

My main influences are Fleetwood Mac, The Chicks, Lauren Alaina, Taylor Swift, Teddy Swims and so many more.

My favourite song of all time is hard to choose but it has to be “I’m Every Woman”

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I have been performing since I was 4 years old and have always written my own songs.

I worked in holiday camps, bars abroad and also at lots of weddings and private parties in the last 20 years .

I had my first solo paid gig in a pub when I was 17 years old, and my first live band gig at 16 at a Country music showcase and absolutely loved performing with a band, but realised that to take my career to the next step I had to work as a solo artist so that I would not get held back on my journey. I sang on BBC1 2007
I am also part of a duo and really enjoy singing harmonies and creating, but love writing and performing my own songs.

I learnt to play guitar in the pandemic as I was frustrated not being able to write music of my own and since then have released 5 original solo albums and 2 of them have been in the finals for UK Country album of the year, and I was nominated for 3 years as country artist and entertainer of the year for British Country Music Awards and UK Country Awards.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

My favourite type of event is a wedding where everyone is in a good mood for a party and to let go and have fun. I love interacting and involving my audience with what songs I am performing. Whether I am performing to 1 person or a million people I really enjoy making people happy through music.

What sort of style singer are you?

I am a singer songwriter and love to perform with just piano and vocals or guitar and vocals so that I can tell the story of each song. I also love high energy songs that get people dancing, but I love my audience to feel something at every gig.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

Normally I arrive 90 minutes before a performance to set to depending on requirements. I sing 2 sets of 45 minutes at a wedding breakfast which is my most popular gig and play backing music in between. I am happy to play an hour set but I think this breaks up the event into nice chapters of the day and can slightly increase the tempo and volume of the second set.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes as long as I have shade, cover and a power supply. It is not completely necessary if I am performing which just guitar and vocals.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Yes I can learn a set of 10 songs for my clients to fit into a particular genre they would like. I usually change the songs to suit people’s needs, but go through this with all my clients before their event.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

They would say that I love my audience and would like to have as much interaction as possible to make sure people have a memorable time and I like a full dance floor or I do not feel like I have done my job properly.

How many songs do you sing per 45 minute set

This varies from 10-15 depending if they are long songs or if there is talking and audience interaction in between.
