Gareth Jones, formerly General Manager at Allianz and a Director of British Reserve, has announced the establishment of Newmoon Insurance Services Ltd, which will focus on musical instrument insurance and other niche consumer and specialist markets.
The main products being developed by Newmoon will be in the areas of all risk, warranty and small commercial. In addition, an expert team will offer regulatory compliance services.
Initially, Newmoon will specialise in musical instrument insurance, although other schemes include a variety of markets such as music studios, fine art/ instrument collections.
Launched in May 2009, by Gareth and 7 ex Allianz staff, Newmoon musical instrument insurance offers products suitable for all musicians from beginners and students to touring professionals and regular gigging players. Policies will cover instruments against loss, theft and damage and will include options for liability and personal accident cover - with no excess.
Gareth said: “With the closure of the Allianz office in Tunbridge Wells, and the transfer of the old British Reserve business to Pet Plan, it is clear that an opportunity exists to continue to offer the musical industry top quality service. We plan to have quality musical instrument insurance products which offer market leading cover at excellent prices.”
Through the months of September, October and November 2009 Newmoon are providing a special offer to musicians who are already insured with Allianz, Musicguard, Lark etc, or are members of LastMinuteMusicians.com - 12 months cover for the price of 11 months in addition to other savings. Newmoon are represented by over 150 retailers throughout the UK and those musicians who purchase or have an instrument repaired at one of these retailers will obtain vouchers for one month’s free insurance.
