Why would I want to enhance my listing?

Information is everything. The more details a potential booker has, the more likely they are to book. It’s that simple. Worthwhile advertising is expensive, and for the serious artist advertising is unavoidable. Enhanced listings were conceived to tackle this problem and reduce advertising costs for all of our members.

The site is well designed, well optimised with good content to help achieve the ongoing aim of reaching the maximum Internet audience possible. In addition to reaping the benefits of highly effective advertising, you are, with a paid listing, advertising your services in the most visible and effective way possible, whilst facilitating the continued growth and development of the site.

LastMinuteMusicians.com Agency FAQs

These FAQs relate specifically to bands that are booked through the agency section of the site.

What will the band require?

[ back to FAQ index ]

When will the band arrive/setup?

When you book a band you will be asked for a start and end time. The start must be at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance to allow the band to set up. The band will finish playing at the end time and will need to pack up immediately.

[ back to FAQ index ]

Do the band own their own sound equipment?

All of our bands are self-contained and provide their own sound equipment which is suitable for most situations. If your event is to be held in a large venue, or you have more than 300 guests, we recommend that additional sound equipment should be used. You can add the cost of extra sound equipment hire when you book the band or provide suitable equipment yourself.

[ back to FAQ index ]

Does the band play an iPod or CD during the breaks?

Most of our bands offer this as standard. Simply tell us you want the band to bring some background music when you book and we will make all the necessary arrangements. A lot of our clients prefer to bring their own iPod with suitable music that has been chosen in advance and plug it in to the bands sound system.

[ back to FAQ index ]

Do you ever have to substitute musicians?

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that musicians aren't substituted, occasionally it is necessary for us to do so in cases of illness etc. Replacement musicians will always be experienced professionals of a similar high standard..

[ back to FAQ index ]

Do you supply DJs or Discos?

Yes - for events within London, please visit the DJ Packages for Events in London page.

If your event is outside London, you can search for DJ's & Mobile Discos for Events in the directory.

[ back to FAQ index ]

How do I choose the right band for my event?

When choosing a band please consider the following:

[ back to FAQ index ]

How do I book and when do I pay?

[ back to FAQ index ]

Does the agency provide musicians for events outside London?

In some cases we will supply bands outside of London. Please contact us for more information

[ back to FAQ index ]

Do you provide backing bands for solo artists?

We are often asked to supply a band for a showcase or one-off gig. We can supply anything from a pianist to a full professional backing band. Please contact us for more information

[ back to FAQ index ]

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can cancel your booking at any time and receive a full refund! However, if you cancel less than 91 days before the event, part or all of the total fee will be retained as a cancellation fee. 31 to 91 days before performance: 50% of total fee is retained, 1 to 30 days before performance or on the performance day: 100% of total fee is retained. This reflects not only the time and effort involved organising the booking, but also the decreasing probability of the act finding alternative work at such short notice.

[ back to FAQ index ]

Is VAT added to your prices?

No. LastMinuteMusicians.com is not VAT registered.

[ back to FAQ index ]

How far in advance do I need to book?

Our most popular bands get booked up years in advance so it is always a good idea to book as far in advance as possible. We can only take online bookings more than 3 days before your event, however, it is sometimes possible to make a telephone booking right up to the last minute!!

[ back to FAQ index ]

I have booked a band with drums, will the drums be too loud?

Playing at the appropriate volume it is extremely important to most of our clients. If it is required, the drummer will play with 'brushes' which make them very quiet and perfectly balanced with the other instruments.

[ back to FAQ index ]

Do I need to tell the venue that I have booked a band?

Yes. Your venue needs a licence for live music so it always a good to let your venue know if you have hired a band. They will probably give you information about loading procedures, parking etc. which you can pass on to us to help the band to be as efficient as possible on the day.
