About / Biography

Noa is a harpist, based near Bicester (Oxfordshire), with several years of experience playing at weddings, functions, orchestras and recording sessions throughout England and Wales. She covers the UK and abroad.

Weddings:

Noa provides live music for ceremonies (including the guests’ arrival beforehand), the drinks receptions and the wedding breakfast, as well as the option of having a harp to accompany the first dance. Noa has experience playing for both civil and cultural ceremonies, including a chuppah (Jewish weddings) and a Nikah (Muslim weddings).

Events and Corporate Functions:

She provides live background music for a range of functions, most notably London fashion week. The Harp is suitable for any event from a suprise birthday party to playing at luxury events.

Music:

Music choices are catered to each client based on their personal preferences. They can choose from an extensive repertoire list or they can request songs that are not on there. Upon consultation, short samples can be sent to clients so they get a taste of what their requested songs will sound like on the day. She can also guide clients in their music choices by suggesting music that will suit their event. Each setlist is bespoke to suit each clients' needs. As well as playing solo, Noa will collaborate with other musicians, actors, dancers, magicians and even acrobats!

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I need a performance space of at least 2 meters x 3 meters (the harp doesn't take up much space, it's just very tall). If amplification is requested then I need to be near a power supply and a parking space and/or nearby loading bay is essential.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

The harp is an acoustic instrument but amplification is available on request (i.e. if there are lots of guests)

What information do you require about a venue?

I need to know the address of the venue, if there is step-free access (or someone to help with the stairs) and where the harp can be unloaded if parking is quite far away. I will also need to know where I'll be setting up and where I can store bags and cases.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

This is not something I unusually offer. However, I can accommodate this request if I'm amplified for the gig.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

The most incredible gig I played for was London Fashion Week! There were so many wonderful people there and the designer even loaned me a dress to wear! It's definitely a career highlight!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I've been influenced by many artists throughout my career but I'm a massive fan of Florence and the Machine - the fact they have a harpist in the band proves that the harp is so much more than a classical instrument! I include many of their songs including "You've Got the Love" and "Dog Days are Over" into my sets.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started gigging almost 10 years ago! My first gig was a friend's sister's wedding. Since then, I've performed for many weddings and events across the UK and abroad!

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love playing at all sorts of events but weddings are my favourite! It's always such an honour to play couples down the aisle.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I usually arrive at the venue up to an hour before the booking starts to set up. My normal performance times are 1-3 hours - up to 3 sets of music. If the performance is longer than an hour, I'll need short breaks after each set.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside but I require shade or shelter from the elements, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area (if amplified). As the harp gets affected by the weather, I cannot perform in cooler temperatures (below 14°c) or temperatures above 30°c.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I can learn specific songs before the event. I can also take requests from guests at the event itself, provided they are possible on the harp. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from my repertoire or let me choose the music for them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients have described my performances as elegant, versatile and eclectic. They have often been surprised that so many of their favourite songs work really well on the harp!
