Amplification:
We are happy to use a PA at the venue if available and preferred, and can provide our own amplification if required.
We can also assist with PA hire is necessary.

Performance Space:

Parking: 1-2 parking spaces required.

We can provide sound equipment if there is no PA at the venue.
We can also advise on PA hire if preferred.

Hire of lighting can also be discussed.

We would need access to power an an appropriately sized performance space.
Directions, parking and load in information would be appreciated.

We can provide a Spotify Playlist between sets if requested in advance.
Music may be selected by the client , or we can compile a suitable selection.

We have played at numerous festivals and private events, including Kings Place in London, Barbican Hall, and the Savoy Hotel.
We have also played in some wonderfully interesting venues, including the Brunel Musuem Tunnel, in London, and the Tate Modern Art Gallery.

We are all lovers of acoustic jazz. Our primary repertoire centres around the manouche jazz style developed by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli in the 1930's and extends to include many other celebrated jazz musicians in cluding RIchard Galliano, Sylvain Luc and Bireli Lagrene.
We also all love Brazilian and Latin music, Flamenco and the popular music of North Africa and Levant.
This give us a wide net of repertoire and styles to build a set for a diversity of audiences.

Led by cellist Shirley Smart, Bezique is a collective of some of the finest musicians on the UK gypsy jazz and jazz scenes.
The band members have also played together in different bands and combinations over many years on the London jazz scene, and so have built up a great rapport together.

Trained variously at the Guildhall School of Music, Manchester University, Royal College of Music and Paris Conservatoire, the musicians of the collective are all highly experiences professionals in their own right, having performed at venues and festivals across the world.
Their expertise also ranges from jazz to various acoustic world music traditions including Brazilian music, Flamenco, North African, Arabic and Greek music and Klezmer.

Bezique has established a reputation as a core gypsy jazz band with a lively energy and cosmopoolitan approach incorporating their years of experience and breadth of knowledge.

We usually aim to arrive 45 -60 mintues before performance time.
Our set-up time is around 20 minutes.

Performance Times are generally either 1 hr set or 2 x 45 minutes,
but can be tailored to the event on request.

We are happy to play outside in reasonable weather conditions.
We ask for cover to be provided, and a power supply close to the performance area.

We are happy to liaise with the client on the set list.

We can provide a set list of the following repertoires

Jazz Standards/Bossa Nova
Klezmer

We can also incorporate music from around South America and around the Levant and are happy to either tailor the set to a specific genre, or perform a more mixed set, as we appreciate that many events have people with broad musical tastes!

We can learn specific songs for an event, up to a maximum of 4 tunes.
There may be an additional fee for this service, if it requires obtaining sheet music, arrangement and/or rehearsal time.
