The first part of this specification is for RHS when playing their
main POP set. Alterations and additions required for a classical set are
detailed later.
Stage
RHS require a level stage of a minimum size of 16’x10’ at a
height suitable to the event and the room (minimum height 1’)
The system
 The system should ideally be a four way but minimum a three way
active system from a reputable manufacturer (eg Funktion One, Turbosound, EAW, D&B, Logic Systems etc…). Mackie, Peavey, Behringer or similar manufacturers are not acceptable.
 The system is to be run in stereo.
 The power of the system must be suitable for the size of the room and
the type of the event.
 Full access to system equalisation and control must be made available
to the engineer. System Eqs are to be located at the FOH mix position
and must contain a stereo 30 band graphic equaliser from a reputable
manufacturer such as BSS, XTA, or KT. Alesis and Behringer graphics
are not acceptable. If supplying a digital desk please disregard this, but
access to desk based system Eqs and compression/limiting must be
made available if requested.
 An experienced system technician is to be present during the
soundcheck and the show to ensure that the system is running properly.
Desks
 A minimum 12 channel desk is required. The desk must have a
minimum of two swept mids per channel as well as 4 pre fade
auxiliaries for monitors and 1 post fade auxiliary for effects. Subgroups
and VCAs on larger desks would be appreciated but are not essential.
 Desks by Behringer, Mackie or Spirit are not acceptable. Acceptable
brands include Allen and Heath, Soundcraft, Midas, etc…
 We would rather use a good quality digital board where possible. Ideal
desk choice would be a Yamaha LS9-32 (16 channel version acceptable but please advise before the show), M7CL or Soundcraft VI6. Behringer digital desks
are not acceptable.
On stage monitoring
 Please supply:-
IEM system and we require TWO complete independent channels including low profile headphones from a reputable manufacturer such as Shure or Sennheiser.

Playback, dynamics and effects
 We can bring our playlist on a memory stick
 Input for a LAPTOP is also required.
 One professional quality effects unit is required (eg Yamaha SPX990,
TC Electronic M1XL, Lexicon PCM 91). Please ignore this if supplying
a digital desk. WE MUST HAVE REVERB PLEASE!!!!
Microphones and radio packs
 PLEASE SUPPLY :-
2 x Sennheiser EW 300 G2 IEM Transmitters + Receivers
2 x Shure ULX1 UHF Body Pack Transmitters + Receivers
1x Shure ULX1 UHF Body Pack Transmitter (spare)
3 x Shure WA302 Instrument cable for body packs 1 metre long with 1/4” Jack adapters (as if it were a wireless guitar system)

Lighting

 The stage is to be well lit at all times so that the performance is clearly
visible. Use of intelligent and effects lighting and smoke or haze to
enhance the show is encouraged. LED’s, colours and flashing preferred!
Extra notes
 RHS require a full 1 hour soundcheck. During this
soundcheck the stage must be illuminated and there must be no
extraneous noise in the room.
 All equipment must be in full working order and in good presentable
condition.
 All microphone grilles must be clean and odour free!

Classical set
If RHS are performing a classical set in addition to their pop set
then the following notes are relevant:

 The quarter inch leads connected to the radio belt packs for the electric instruments will need to be interchangeable with small lavalier microphones for the classical instruments (eg Sennheiser MKE2.5, DPA4060, etc…).
Suitable fittings
to hold these mics in place must also be supplied, ideally DPA MHS
6001s, but whatever system is supplied must not use any adhesive or
hard clips to fix the microphones to the bodies or bridges of the
instruments.
 Two chairs may be required for this section of the performance.
 The performance area must be lit with adequate lighting for musical
scores to be read. Failure to do this will mean the performance will not
be able to go ahead.
