Cabaret String Quartet was founded in 1997 with the aim of making classical music fun and inclusive for everyone.

We are unique in that we combine high end classical musicianship with hilarious all-singing, all-dancing comedy to form an interactive comedy show that bursts the stuffy and formal image of the traditional String Quartet. We play a broad spectrum of music from Beethoven to Bluegrass, Bach to Brahms, Strauss to Saturday Night Fever, Offenbach to Elvis as well as many well-loved folk tunes – all performed with virtuosity (we even hold the world record for the fastest violin playing in Flight of the Bumblebee). By presenting the classics in this new, exhilarating way (with some cheeky audience interaction), not only do we get the audiences laughing but we appeal to both young and old alike.

Fully self-contained, we are highly experienced and have performed in major theatres in the UK and across the world and at corporate events, in concerts, cabarets, on cruise ships, at weddings, schools and outdoor festivals across Europe. We've appeared on national TV and radio in the UK, Ireland and Spain, played for presidents and royalty and appeared as guest artists with major orchestras, such as the Royal Philharmonic and the Evergreen Symphony. We have also been a member of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now! scheme and are in huge demand as a lead headliner act on the most exclusive cruise-ships in the world, We were finalists at the 2014 Irish Event Industry Awards in Dublin, being one of the acts chosen to perform live at the ceremony and have also appeared on Britain's Got Talent.
