About / Biography

Frazer is a Session and Function Pianist and Keyboardist based in Cardiff

Playing piano for 22 years, and professionally for 12, he has gained expertise by playing to audiences across the UK and abroad. He has toured numerous times in Jazz bands, and has worked extensively as a music teacher in that time as well. Credits include performing at Cadogan Hall in London, playing for Dame Shirley Bassey, performing at the Welsh ambassadors residence in Paris, writing an original musical called "The Colouring Book" which debuted in Cardiff in 2017, and regularly entertaining at open mics and karaoke nights. He is currently working a lot as an accompanist, Musical Director and session keyboardist for many rising stars in the pop music scene in South Wales.

With a catalogue of Classic songs, he plays with a distinctive sophistication and a profound adaptability to capture musically the moment he is in. This adaptability will also show up in the way he works with you to get the result you are looking for.

He can deliver solo performances, as well as duos, trios, and other line ups on request. Other instruments for these set ups can include but are not limited to:

What are your basic technical requirements?

Access to power supply
Rain cover if performing outside
3mx3m for solo act, additional space needed for more musicians


Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Sound equipment provide (PA). Further sound and lighting requirements can be provided at an additional cost.


What information do you require about a venue?

How to get to venue, plug points, where to load in, parking, techincal requirements, basic logistics, food and accommodation if required.


Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes we can provide a Spotify music playlist between sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Best gig was at my sister's wedding, surrounded by family and friends.
In recent memory I would say supporting Craig Charles' Funk and Soul House Party in December 2023 at Tramshed in Cardiff.


Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I really love to play Kate Bush songs. There is so much to choose from in her catalogue and her music is so engaging and captivating.


What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I grew up in a musical family and played piano in school shows and events around the local area. I started doing cocktail piano gigs when I was 18. I then studied a Jazz performance degree and worked in music from that point onwards.


What's your favourite type of event to play at?

For me it doesn't matter what the event is, as long as I feel that everything clicks into place then I'm happy.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

2x 45 minute sets is common, but we can discuss what you would like.


Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes but need power, a flat surface and rain cover.


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Yes absolutely! I love to take requests, but there is an additional cost for this. It's not always possible with bigger band situations but we can discuss on a case by case basis.


How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Engaging, emotive, varied and entertaining.
