Groove East is a Bristol based oud/guitar and double bass duo. Middle Eastern and Mediterranean music coming together with klezmer and jazz elements to create a rich unique and evocative sound world.
Daphna is world class double bassist and composer. She has released 4 CD’s on major UK and US labels. She has received commissions grants to compose Jazz, World music and crossover genres music. Daphna has performed internationally in Europe the far East and USA.
Knud is a much in demand oud player, guitarist and composer based in Bristol. Other bands include Bristol European Jazz Ensemble (BEJE), Nabra (North African), Brejeiro (choro), Mr.Dowlands Midnight and Instant Wit (improvised comedy.
The duo has started performing two years ago in Bristol. According to request they can expand the group to a trio or quartet with Saxophone and drums.
Since they have performing together they performed in various venues around the UK.
