With the main members living in the heart of West London & Notting Hill the Groove Stars have played at countless private house parties/clubs/festivals and other venues, creating bespoke, intimate parties to entertain the rich and famous as well as everyday people who appreciate great music and a good time.
This modern yet retro band have many years of experience in the music business as well as success in the 80s/90s with hits in the charts and underground club scene. As a collective they have also recorded and toured with many international artists. Their sound is unique. They are the real deal. Each member is a recording artist in their own right, and together they have carved a niche and sound by reworking/interpreting classics so as to make them their own. They work from a vast song catalogue which encompasses blues and soul, reggae and ska, Motown, disco and urban pop.
With an eclectic mix of mid to up tempo, reggae, dub grooves which include hits from 90s bands such as Soul to Soul, Bomb the Bass, Portishead right through to the classics from Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and more. Their songs create a unique style and sound via cleverly mixed dance beats, a funky bass, synths, samples and mash-ups, culminating in hypnotic and uplifting shows.
Line-ups are put together to suit each individual event. They can range from an acoustic duo for intimate jazz parties through to a full 5 to 9-piece eclectic band including tabla and wind instruments. We do not play current chart music but special song requests can be taken IF we feel we can do them justice.
The style of party will be aimed to suit your needs and requirements. We work with you to create something you and your friends will always remember. All bookings are considered, Availability depending we can work with budgets and charity events.
