If there isn't a piano already at the venue, I will need a performance space of 2 meters x 2 meters and to be placed near to two plug sockets.
If there is already a piano at the venue it needs to be tuned, all of the notes need to make a sound, and both pedals need to work.
Yes, I'm completely self sufficient. I bring my own PA system to all of my gigs.
I will need to know any specific direction that will help me to find the venue, and the right place to load in my equipment. I also need to be informed if there is parking and if the venue requires copies of my PLI, PAT tests or piano insurance.
Yes I'm happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between my sets. However, my phone/laptop don't connect to my amp, so it would need to be through the venue's PA system.
I recently played for the post-show reception of the UK tour of Come From Away. It was amazing to entertain the actors and their families, and I was also given free tickets to the show! It was such a fun experience and it was nice to play some Musical Theatre music for a change.
I grew up listening to a huge variety of artists and have always loved music from the 70s all the way through to the 00s. Some stand-out artists I learnt to play on piano include Adele, Coldplay, Queen, Whitney Houston and ABBA! As a fellow Stokie, I also listened to a lot of Robbie Williams, so I'd say my musical style has lots of different influences.
I started playing professionally for weddings and other events when I was 16 years old. I cried at every wedding I played for during my first year of gigging - I loved that my job was to play at such beautiful, happy events!
Over the last 8 years I've played at many different events including the 70th Anniversary Dinner for the Rupert The Bear books! I've provided background music for birthday parties, restaurants, funerals, anniversaries and church services and have also worked as an accompanist and session musician.
I love playing at all sorts of events, but weddings have to be my favourite! I love playing while for the bride while they walk down the aisle, it's such a beautiful job!!
I normally arrive 30 minutes before the performance to set up. On average I would say I perform 2 x 45 minuts or 2 x 60 minute sets. I'm happy to play for longer or shorter, but have found these set times work well with audiences.
I'm happy to play outside but I would need shade/cover to protect my equipment from the unpredictable British weather! I also need a flat surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
Yes I'm more than happy to take song requests from clients! Just let me know at least a week in advance so I have time to find the sheet music and learn them.
