Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Performing for Edrington (international spirits brand) clients on the Emotion yacht, Cannes, France for the Tax Free World Exhibition and Conference was spectacular!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

I am influenced by David Sanborn. Andy Hamilton MBE. Angella Christie. Courtney Fadlin. Ella Fitzgerald. Tina Turner. Whitney Houston. Michael Jackson. Andre Crouch. Dimash Kudaibergen.

My favourite artiste is TIna Turner. I love her passion and voice on all of her songs, but the writing and her rendition of 'Complicated Disaster' gets me every time.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Music was my hobby for many years. I played in Churches, at friends celebrations and community events. I tried to develop a career but did not know how. At 42 years old, watching a male colleague perform at a jazz festival I reflected that we had both played in Andy Hamilton MBE youth band. We appeared in Andy’s Central TV documentary, but my colleague had managed to achieve his music career, how did he do it? I decided to give my music dream one last push. Today I am a multi-award winning saxophonist with features on TV, Radio, Books and Journals. As a result I created a Podcast called 'Success Beyond The Score' to help musicians find their way in the music industry. I also, created an online programme called 'Time For My Music' to mentor women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s in how to achieve their music dream, as women face more hurdles than men in music.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I always receive positive comments on how great my music was just the events. If I were to choose my favourite it would be two types of events. They are at the opposite end of the spectrum. Corporate events, as my music sets the tone for businesses deals to take place, and giving solace through music at funerals and memorials.
