Shave The Donkey is a Wirral-based ceilidh band with wide experience of playing for all types of events in venues, large and small, across North West England and North Wales - from weddings, birthdays and anniversary celebrations to corporate events, PTAs and community fund raisers. If you are looking to organise a lively, fun dance then we can help and advise you.

No prior dancing experience is needed, indeed most people coming to a ceilidh or barn dance are novices. Our callers will encourage your guests to get involved by walking and talking them through every dance. And where something is easier demonstrated than explained, the caller will be quickly on the dance floor showing you the way.

The band uses traditional dances and music from England, Ireland, Scotland and further afield, and typically plays for two 75 minute sets.

Shave The Donkey provides its own amplification system which is fully PAT tested and we are covered by Public Liability Insurance.
