About / Biography

Classically trained, Sue has a huge repertoire from Bach to Bollywood. She plays at weddings, memorials and other private events, as a soloist and as part of a piano and sax duo, Two's Company. Sue plays a fully-weighted Roland piano, and can also supply a stunning white baby grand piano shell. This is fully portable. She supplies a PA for large venues, and a large battery pack to enable her to play outdoors. She also teaches piano and works as an accompanist. Sue studied music at York and Cardiff University.

Choose from gentle well-known classical pieces, contemporary pop ballads, songs from films and musicals, or jazz standards. Sue is always happy to learn new songs if you have particular favourites in mind!

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Sue provides a PA to amplify the piano for larger venues. For outdoor events without electricity, she provides a very large battery for amplification.


Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Stage lights can be provided, if required.


What information do you require about a venue?

It's always helpful for Sue to have a contact name for the venue to confirm directions, parking, access, egress, etc.


Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, Sue is always happy to play music from Spotify between sets.

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Sue loves performing in iconic venues such as Cardiff Castle and the National Museum, but is equally happy playing in a church hall!


Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Too many to mention!


What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Sue's first regular gig was as a cocktail pianist in the Park Hotel in Cardiff. Since then, she has played for hundreds of weddings, and each one is special!


What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Wedding ceremonies are Sue's absolute favourite, but she also finds it very rewarding performing at memorials.

What are your typical setup and performance times?

45 mins if providing a baby grand piano shell and PA. No set-up if using an acoustic piano owned by the venue.


Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, as long as there is cover!


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Sue has a huge repertoire, but is always happy to learn new songs, as it helps to keep her repertoire fresh and up-to-date.


How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

This depends on the event! Sue always arranges a Zoom or telephone conversation with the client prior to the event to establish what feel and mood they want. This allows Sue to personalise each performance to create a romantic, relaxing or up-beat vibe, as required.
