The band got to know each other while studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, and a little while later formed The Skippers! This band are a reliable and professional 5 piece, with Nicole’s effortless and beautiful vocals backed up by the awesome talents of Alex on drums, Jake on guitar, Jack on Bass and Alex on keys

You can probably tell from the videos that these guys will be bringing the happy vibes to your event, and getting all your guests in the spirit of things! They’ll be playing a floor filling mix of popular modern hits as well as the classics that everyone knows and loves.

An Ideal Festival Wedding Band

The Skippers can offer two very distinct styles for your event. Firstly their folk style, which is perfect for easing the audience in, and then later they will let loose with their electric set. Having these two styles gives the variety to any wedding or party to make it feel like a mini festival of your own!

Their folk set includes songs from bands such as Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, and Paulo Nutini, but also some that you might not be quite expecting! Ever heard a folk version of ’Shake it Off’ by Taylor Swift? You won’t be disappointed! The bands electric set is a hand picked a repertoire of classic and contemporary chart hits, which they play in their own upbeat way.

The Skippers Standard Wedding Service

The Skippers regularly play at weddings all over the UK and abroad. Their standard wedding service includes the following…

3 x 45 mins of music, usually between 7pm & 12am. (this can be a mix of 2 sets electric and 1 set folk or vice versa)
Arrival at 5pm, to be sound checked by 7pm.
Recorded music between sets so you don’t need to hire a DJ and you’re guests can continue dancing all night.
First dance learnt and performed.
All equipment, PA and stage lighting.
Travel costs and accommodation if required. There are no hidden extra costs.

The band can also offer extras including;
Earlier background music sets during drinks reception or wedding breakfast.
Ceremony music.
Earlier arrival to be set-up before the meal.
Use of their PA for speeches if needed.

The band are also fully PAT certified, and have full public liability insurance. Your wedding venue is likely to require both of these in order for the band to be allowed to perform.
