The Society production show/band was created in 2014 and was immediately booked for a 6 month residency at a premiere hotel in Newcastle. The first 6 months were so successful that the residency was extended another three months during which time the show was given rave reviews. The Society was also booked for a number of private parties during that time as well as several corporate functions including The North East England Tourism Awards at The Newcastle Civic Centre and Kathryn Truman’s Inbal Drur fashion show at The Sage Gateshead. This show is the creation of Jason Holcomb. The music director and instrumentalist is a veteran of the Las Vegas music scene having performed with artists such as The O’Jays, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and most recently Matt Goss. His new show, The Society, is based on his experiences in the infamous Sin City and embraces an intimate speakeasy style format featuring an all-star cast of musicians from the region.

Musical influences come from a wide spectrum and include all kinds of genres, from swing and jazz to rock, funk, soul, and hip hop. The live band of eight members take classic songs from all eras, including music from ACDC, Britney Spears, The Who, Robin Thicke, and rework and revise them for a totally unique take. The attendees are encouraged to come out dressed for a night out, drink boozy cocktails, socialise and be entertained by a one of a kind production. The event has been described as “Equal parts speakeasy, nightclub, live music show, and soiree, stirred briskly and served with extravagant style!”
