Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We require at least 2 x 13 amp power sockets. We need a performance space of at least 6 meters x 3 meters for our 6-piece band.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we come to your event completely self contained. We bring our own QSC PA system and use a simple lighting rig. If you have booked us for your large corporate /charity event and you are using an AV company, we will liaise with them to ensure a smooth set up. We have a lot of experience interacting with AV companies and it's a breath of fresh air trusting we are in good hands for your big night!

What information do you require about a venue?

Please ask your venue if there is a sound limiter and let us know in advance if there is. We have experience working around sound limiters, however if the sound limiter is set below 96db the sound quality will be greatly effected.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we use Spotify on our iPad just before we start playing, and during our 30 minute break. If you would like specific songs on the Spotify playlist, please do let us know in advance and we will ensure its all downloaded for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

One of the best gigs we have played was our residency at Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. We played for 450 party goers, 3 nights a week in the run up to Christmas for 3 years in a row. Everyone was in such high spirits and loved every minute of hearing us play. We couldn't believe how jam packed the massive dance floor was for our full set each night. Such a highlight for us as a band. We got treated like rock stars! So much appreciation from the crowd.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We love so many musical genres. Our 3 favourite genres are Rock, Dance and Soul. The 2 songs that always go down a treat at every event we play at is the dance anthem, 'Set You Free' by N' Trance and 'A Little Respect' by Erasure.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

The StereoBeats began 15 years ago as a soul band, we all wanted to play music more regularly up and down Scotland and decided to become a mainstream Events band focusing on Weddings and Corporate gigs. We are blown away with how far we have came and are all very proud of our success as one of the best Wedding and Party bands in Scotland and beyond.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

We love performing at all events. We absolutely love all things weddings. We get so much enjoyment being a part of each couples biggest moment. We get such a buzz when we perform for big charity and corporate events. We love feeling like rock stars on the big stage.

Can we book a smaller group for our daytime Wedding Ceremony / Drinks Reception?

Absolutely. Some of our band members have heaps of experience playing during the day at Weddings especially for Ceremony and Drinks Reception. If you book The StereoBeats for your Evening Reception you can add daytime entertainment for an additional add on cost. For daytime you can book our Saxophonist Marshali for solo sax vibes. If you would like chill out Piano and Saxophone Duo, our Keyboard player Dave will perform alongside Marshali. Perhaps you would love our Lead Singer, Lynne accompanied by Dan on Acoustic Guitar to keep your guests entertained. Please contact us to enquire about all of the daytime options and choose the one that is the right vibe for you.

Can you play live Ceilidh?

We absolutely love playing live Ceilidh. Our talented Keyboard player, Dave fronts the band while playing the Accordion, giving that true Scottish Ceilidh sound. Dave also calls the Ceilidh, so you don't need to be an expert, we will teach you the dances! We usually play 3 Ceilidh songs at your event; 'Gay Gordans' / 'Strip The Willow' / 'Canadian Barn Dance'. If you can't get enough Ceilidh we are more than happy to play up to 1 hour. Some other dances we love playing are 'Dashing White Sergeant' / 'Circassian Circle' / 'St Bernards Waltz' / 'The Military Two Step'.

Does the band always have a Saxophone player?

Yes!! We are a 6-piece band. Our amazing Saxophone player Marshali is one of our longest members in the band. We tailor a lot of our song choices to include the saxophone. When Marshali is not playing the saxophone you will hear her singing backing vocals supporting our lead singer.

In the event of an original band member becoming very ill, will you provide a replacement musician?

Absolutely, each member of our band has a handful of highly talented, professional, experienced players who have played with the band throughout the years. In the unfortunate circumstance one of our band member is very unwell our dep musician will step in and perform to the same standard.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 1 hour and 30 minutes before our performance starts. We require 1 hour to set up and soundcheck before our performance begins. Please note, our 1 hour set up and soundcheck begins when we are given access to the room (This usually takes place when the room gets turned around). Our performance times are dependant on what type of event you have booked us for. For Scottish Weddings we usually start at 8pm, take a 30 minute break (usually whilst your evening buffet is being served) and then we will come back on for our 2nd set and play till midnight. If you have booked us for a private party or a corporate / charity event, we will ask for your itinerary and work around your speeches/awards/meal and agree a time to start that is best for you.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We are more than happy to perform outdoors on good weather conditions. We ask for a safe power supply to be close by to our performance area and a flat level surface where possible.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We have a large range of songs and different genres on our setlist to keep everyone happy and dance floors full. We are more than happy to learn a couple of requests for you, this includes your first dance if it's at your wedding. It is important that you let us know 4 weeks in advance, allowing us time to learn your requests. Please note, we will play your request song/s through our iPad / sound system if we receive your request less than 4 weeks prior to your event.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous customers describe us as extremely professional and full of fun. Electrifying on-stage energy. Our clients were particularly impressed how we kept the dance floor packed all night. However we do get messages to say guests have sore throats from signing all night and aching feet from dancing the whole night.

Can you begin earlier at my wedding reception? Or finish later than your normal set times?

Yes. We are happy to accommodate your extra time request. There will be an additional charge which will be discussed at the time of booking. Please note* When we play longer than our normal (up to 3.5 hours) we require an additional small break to help us preserve our voices / lips / fingers.
