About / Biography

Tsvetelina is a UK-based harpist, with a wide range of creativity involved in her performances and compositions for the harp. Originally from Bulgaria, she has performed internationally from the United Arab Emirates, through Europe, to the United Kingdom. Tsvetelina specialises in performing arts and has been awarded a First Class Bachelor of Music with Honours degree in Performance (Harp) from the prestigious Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Tsvetelina passion for music began at an early age. Just four years old she was already singing on the biggest stages in Sofia, Bulgaria with the vocal group ‘Iskritsi’ she was part of. Later she began playing the piano and at the age of eleven, she falls in love with the harp, which became her main instrument since and current career path.

Tsvetelina graduated National Music School ‘Lubomir Pipkov’ in 2011 with profile harp and an excellent diploma, where she was studying harp with her first harp teacher Kohar Andonyan. She became there a prize winner of two international competitions – 'Young Virtuosos' in 2009 and 2011. She continued her harp studies with Prof. Malina Hristova in New Bulgarian University and in 2012 Tsvetelina was accepted with a scholarship for undergraduate studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the class of Catherine White. To broaden her horizons as a performing musician she interrupted her studies for a year to work as a harpist for one of the leading entertainment agencies in the UAE - The Fridge Dubai. From 2015 she continued her studies with the newly appointed head of harp Eleanor Turner. Throughout the years at the Conservatoire, Tsvetelina has been financially supported by Bullock Fund, Endowment Fund, and in October 2016 she was awarded a Career Development Bursary from Help Musician UK to participate in Jazz Harp Academy and Dutch Harp Festival in Utrecht. She is currently a member of Musicians’ Union and United Kingdom Harp Association.

From 2006 to 2016 Tsvetelina has participated in the master class of Catrin Finch, Park Stickney, Elisabeth Fontan-Binoche, Skila Kanga, Gabriella Dall’Olio, Lisseta Rossi, Suzanna Klintcharova, Claudia Antonelli, Remy van Kesteren, Rossitza Milevska, Youliana Tochkova, Mared Emlyn, and Robin Ward.

As an orchestra performer, Miss has performed with professional and amateur orchestras in Europe, Middle East, and the United Kingdom some of which are Classic FM Sofia, Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Russe Opera House, Birmingham Philharmonic, Halesowen Orchestra, Dubai Chamber Orchestra and others.
