Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

One of my most memorable performances was at the Everest Abercorn restaurant in Stanmore for the Ealing Three Bridges Cricket Club’s annual ceremony. I played a wide mix of Bollywood classics and forgotten pop favourites, creating a vibrant and nostalgic atmosphere that connected with guests of all ages.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

My favourite artists are Michael Jackson and Arijit Singh — I admire MJ’s unmatched stage presence and Arijit’s emotional depth. Some of my favourite pieces to play and listen to include Billie Jean and Hypnosis by Ian Clarke, which I love for its expressive intensity and technical challenge. I’m also drawn to classical composers like Claude Debussy, whose use of colour and mood feels timeless and inspiring.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

My most recent performance was at my neighbour’s 40th birthday party, a lively and well-attended celebration where I played a variety of popular Bollywood songs that kept the atmosphere energetic and joyful. I started gigging at the age of 7, performing at local events for Indian festivals in the community. Over time, as I gained more experience, I began performing at private events hosted by friends, and now I regularly play at restaurants and formal ceremonies. Each step has helped me grow as a performer and connect with a wider range of audiences.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

My favourite type of event to play at is adult birthday parties. They’re usually more informal and relaxed, which gives me the freedom to connect with the audience, have fun, and perform in a more expressive and interactive way. It’s always a great vibe!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I typically arrive a couple of hours before the performance to set up my music stand and ensure that the microphone, background music, and any other technical arrangements are fully in place. Performance times can vary depending on the host’s preferences, but I usually recommend limiting sets to a maximum of an hour and a half to keep the energy and quality of the performance at its best.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I’m more than happy to perform outdoors, as long as there’s access to a flat, spacious platform and the acoustics are suitable. With the right setup, outdoor performances can be just as engaging and enjoyable as indoor ones.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I have a set list of songs that I’m familiar with, and clients are welcome to choose from this selection. I’m always happy to discuss and tailor the set list to suit the event. If there are specific song requests outside of my existing repertoire, I’m happy to accommodate up to three new songs with advance notice of at least two weeks.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous clients have described my performances as entertaining, soulful, and most importantly, highly engaging and interactive with the audience.
