Alan played for our wedding at HMS Nelson Wardroom in Portsmouth at the beginning of October and it was the perfect accompaniment to our day. He is not only an incredibly talented musician but a genuinely lovely person who could not have been more accommodating. He expertly intertwined a mixture of our favourite tunes, including musicals, pop songs and more traditional pieces, during both our drinks reception and while we sat down to dinner. We had many comments from our guests saying what a lovey atmosphere Alan’s music created and we could not recommend him more.

Alan is lovely - friendly, easy to communicate with and flexible. He found the perfect volume with appropriate music for our event - a surprise afternoon tea party - old show tunes and popular music. He set everything up without any fuss and took a few requests too. I would highly recommend him.

Alan arrived in plenty of time to set up at our Christmas Party. He had a wide repertoire, including a list of Christmas Carols that I asked him to play, for guests to sing. He also helped to get everyone singing! Very friendly and a great pianist.

Alan played piano for us at our home for a private party and immediately was able to gauge the mood with a wonderful selection of beautifully played music. He was courteous and friendly and we felt very at easy with having him in our home for our celebration.

Mr Helyer once again didn’t disappoint. This is the 2nd time we have booked Alan and his selection of music on the night was not only right for the occasion but an absolute joy to the ears. Will be booking again!

I would thoroughly recommend Alan.
He was easy to communicate with, reliable and very amenable. He played a great variety of songs and pitched the level perfectly which created a really nice atmosphere at our golf club dinner.

Alan provided exactly what we asked for when playing at my parents Golden Wedding anniversary afternoon tea. He arrived early to ensure he was set, practiced and ready for his booked time. His relaxed manner was reflected in the music he played; providing the perfect, elegant backdrop to an afternoon enjoyed by all.

The evening with Alan was most enjoyable. He is a very competent pianist with a large repertoire, no problems with any requests and a pleasure to listen to. Won’t hesitate to ask him again.

Alan was the Pianist for our parents Diamond Wedding Anniversary , he is a great musician and entertainer and everyone enjoyed the music.We would definitely book him again .

We were lucky enough to have Alan entertain us for my Mum’s recent 80th birthday bash. With no hesitation Alan joined right in with the family and was able to play anything they asked of him. Thank you Alan for helping make Mum’s day!

‘Alan kindly stepped in at the last minute to provide piano accompaniment for a silent film screening at a Conference. Despite the lack of preparation time, Alan used his knowledge and understanding to create an ideal soundtrack, incorporating appropriate themes and a traditional silent film score. It was a hugely successful event and in no small part to the performance of Alan.’

What a find Alan is, he is polite, well dressed and above all talented. With the exception of one request from us we left him to play his choice of music based on the room and he did a fantastic job. Music was balanced, entertaining and never over powered the conversation. Alan even managed to find time to play some queen tunes at the end of the evening for a guest who used to be a Freddie tribute singer.

Thanks once again for helping to make our evening so special, I would whole heartedly recommend you and will happily use you again should the opportunity arise.

Alan is a fantastic pianist and he provided the perfect soundtrack to both my engagement party and wedding breakfast. The variety of his repertoire is very broad and we all really enjoyed the music. I would highly recommend him.

Thanks, Alan, for your splendid performance at our sailing club's Christmas lunch. What a range of music! We had traditional carols and Christmas tunes, some classical pieces as well as some bluesy numbers - all delivered with flawless precision. I loved the impro inserts when you segued from one piece to the next. The attitude of performers is so important on occasions like ours, and you got it just right - friendly and accommodating, just as happy to be in the background as you were to be up front. You certainly added that extra ingredient that made the whole lunch such a success.

Alan is an experienced musician and pianist.He is capable of playing a range of styles,from Jazz,Blues and Rock to light Classical.He is always thinking ahead,adapting his music and genre to different tastes.He is also a very capable and confident person who delivers the highest of standards setting the right tone for a specific atmosphere.He has always been extremely professional,punctual and agreeable.He will always go out of his way to satisfy his customers and our guests.On a personal note, Alan is a great character,sociable and a good listener.I appreciate his music.
