Chris played wonderfully for my proposal to my now fiance. He has a great voice and helped make it a day to remember, doing a private concert for us. He is also a great communicator, catering for all my requests and is very easy to work with

Chris did an amazing job performing at a hen do. He knew exactly what to play and had us all up dancing/getting the bride involved etc. He was also really easy to contact and came back almost instantly - thank you so much Chris, I would definitely recommend for future parties

I could not recommend Chris highly enough. Our whole experience with him was brilliant from start to finish. Chris responded to messages quickly and was extremely accommodating. The party was a Hen Do with 50 women and he judged the mood and tone of the party perfectly and soon had everyone up on their feet. Chris arrived on time and was very helpful, even playing our playlist for us during his breaks and making announcements for us. He got completely stuck into the party and we can’t wait to have him come and sing for us again!

Chris made our event into a great party. He was flexible when the weather turned bad and he was happy switching to play indoors. He played anything we asked, got us all singing along and made it a great day!

Chris played on our wedding day and absolutely nailed the brief! - upbeat, feel good tracks and the creation of a merry atmosphere. We are big fans of Chris' music taste and his unique style - he is clearly very talented and his live performance was brilliant - we were flooded with compliments from friends and family on Chris' behalf. Additionally Chris played as we arrived for the wedding breakfast - this was a very special moment for us as everyone was singing along and clapping. Chris was very professional from the start - very responsive, set up was all in good time and all sets delivered on schedule. Chris' approach to planning was very flexible and he proved very likeable! Don't hesitate to book Chris - you won't be disappointed.

Had an amazing afternoon. Chris was brilliant, he made a lovely family birthday meal very special. He was very professional, polite and had really good music that everyone (young and old) enjoyed. I think he gained himself a few groupies with the younger members of the family and he took the time to have a chat and his photo with them. Everyone there commented on how good he was and how much they had enjoyed themselves. I would definitely recommend him and would not hesitate in booking him again in the future.

We had a small get together for our 30th wedding anniversary, we had a mixed age group celebrating, we decided to have a musician, and we was not disappointed with Chris, very professional from start to finish. His voice is amazing and guitar skills second to none, we left it all to him, he did not disappoint, we would highly recommend him, lovely guy !

We invited Chris to perform at our small wedding reception, a combination of his own songs and also some cover songs. We weren't sure what songs to choose but Chris made it all super easy, compiling a proposed songs list for us to review and even editing words in the individual songs so they were all family friendly - completely relieving my anxiety about offending any of our guests!

Chris was also very considerate and accommodating on the day itself - arriving extra early to set up (so he wouldn't be in the way of other activities we had planned) and staying longer than we should have reasonably expected (in order to fit in with our programme and delays). Most importantly, Chris is a wonderful, talented, funny, and warm-hearted performer. He made us all laugh and also feel happy and relaxed. Having Chris perform his own songs felt extra special, as something a little different and unique, and I highly recommend this and him to anyone wanting to organise a special event.

The booking process with Chris was so easy, he was flexible and even though he couldn’t do the time I wanted I loved the fact he got back to me with the times he could do. He was quick to reply and made all so easy and mangeable. He got in touch with songs he could do which was a lovely touch that I got to pick the songs too.
The day of the party Chris turned up on time and set up early, in preparation. He was so warm and friendly with all the guests and was so lovely listening to the children's requests, in fact he even tried to learn some requests in his break. We were celebrating a birthday and the man in question wanted him to stay on to play which he advised he would have, but unfortunately had another event that evening.
I wouldn't hesitate in booking Chris again, he was a lovely person, but also a very talented musician who made everyone feel at ease and we had a wonderful afternoon.

Just want to say thanks Chris for your performance at our recent garden party...not only did you happily extend your set to perform some of your own songs - which went down an absolute storm by the way! But your whole performance was fabulous with guests commenting on not just how great the set was, but also how nice a guy you are!...thanks Chris - a top performer and a top guy.

We had a great time at the BBQ despite the gloomy weather - It was a very hectic afternoon , I didn’t have to worry at all about Chris, he just quietly set his stall out . He played his two sessions as arranged - my guests were exceedingly impressed - he read his audience well with his choice of songs . We just wanted to say a massive thank you to Chris for playing at our party last week. Literally ALL of our guests couldn’t stop talking about how brilliant his performance was. I was inUndated with text messages the following day from people asking for his contact details and again telling me how much they enjoyed listening to his singing.  Even our neighbours told us they were all enjoying his music from their gardens- having their own sing song and dancing . Not only he is very talented, but what  a lovely, polite young man he is too, who we would certainly recommend and will also be booking again in the near future.

Chris absolutely made my Hen Party go with a swing. I had approximately 20 family, friends and neighbours in my home and everyone remarked at how good his guitar playing was plus he had a great personality.

We first met Chris when he played for us at our pandemic wedding in June. We found an advertisement for Chris online and knew from the first phone call that we wanted him to be a part of our big day. Chris Tavener was professional, courteous and well organised. He was happy to comply with venue rules and regulations and nothing was too much trouble for him.
As an events organiser, I have worked with many different suppliers and the good ones can be hard to find! Chris Tavener is a rare find because he is brilliant! His customer service was second to none. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him and would definitely use him again at future events.
Chris was always super quick to respond and problem solve. If we had any issues in advance of the wedding and on the day itself he was quick to sort them and relieve us of that headache. He puts himself into your shoes and does his utmost to make the day as special as he can for you.
Although we booked Chris last minute because we weren’t sure if the wedding would go ahead due to covid, we needn’t have worried. A tour request, Chris took on the role as toast master and coordinated everything perfectly on the day. He liaised with bar staff to announce our arrival and get things ready and he announced our speeches at the reception.
When organising a wedding, you need the best people in your team to make the day (and the run up!!) as stress free as possible. When it comes to entertainment - Chris is that person.  We were delighted that he played for us. He read the audience well and played a great selection of songs to cater for all age groups. He created a fantastic atmosphere and even played a little longer into the night when he knew our guests didn’t want him to go home!
We can’t thank Chris enough for how special he made our big day! Thank You!

Chris was extremely quick to respond to my request, confirming he could perform at my venue in two days time. He was very polite, professional and an excellent live singer / musician. I would recommend 100% and use again!

We booked him to headline a night in the depths of Winter in our remote outpost and he packed the venue out. Within hours of announcing his show we we're taking bookings which is pretty unheard of for us.
On the run up to the gig and on the day, his professionalism was top-notch. Communication was excellent and he made sound checking a dream.
On the night his performance was impeccable. He had the crowd in raptures of laughter and we even had customers watching the livestream from the loo because they didn't want to miss anything.

I feel his audience here didn't get the full joy of his performance as they weren't giving it their whole attention hence missing the satirical brilliance. Many, who listened intently, loved Chris. I first saw Chris performing in a bar in Altrincham and he was excellent, I loved all the songs he played and he has a real charisma with his audience. I booked him for family birthday party in our local pub and although he had 2 other gigs that day, he squeezed us in for an hour slot. His play list was perfect and everyone at the party commented on how much they enjoyed his choice of music. Even the little ones loved him too. We will definitely book him in the future and recommend him 100%.

I had the utmost pleasure of seeing Chris Tavener last night at 81 Renshaw on the penultimate show of his tour. Having seen Chris play more times than I can count on my fingers and toes, this was hands (and feet) down the best time I've seen him play; he really came in to his own and gave an oustanding 'tour mode' performance. Constantly encouraging audience participation - and successfully getting the whole venue singing along to his catchy chorus hooks - and effortlessly making everyone laugh with his witty and topical lyrics, Chris was certainly in his element.

I couldn't recommend Chris enough for any type of event or function as his style is suitable for absolutely anything. A seasoned performer, an amazing guy and an admirably hard worker, he deserves everything and more that comes his way.

I am a singer songwriter working throughout the north of England.
One of the names I often encounter is Chris Tavener. He is praised by promotors and audience members alike for his professional manner and he is clearly delivering an act the punters wish to watch.
I have only seen Chris perform once and his songwriting impressed me so much, I downloaded his EP which is well produced and recommended if you are seeking an introduction to a young songwriting talent.
