We booked the Hot Hats after doing some googling and took a punt not having had any prior knowledge of them. We could not have been more pleased with our choice and their performance on the day! They were a fantastic addition to our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebrations. They had people up singing and dancing, young and old to a great mix of songs from old to new. They were really engaging in adverse weather conditions in the pub garden. The guys certainly didn't just go through the motions, they interacted really well without prompting with ourselves and our guests. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or book again, in fact the pub landlord was that impressed that he booked them there and then for another live music session in the future!

We booked the Hot Hats for our wedding evening party after seeing them play at a friend’s own reception. They’re a fantastically engaging live act, interactive and hugely talented with great musical range. They’re also super friendly, organised and great value. I’ve also booked them for a works party previously and they were awesome there, too! Music from a wide range of periods from the ‘60s onwards makes them a great choice for multi-generational get-togethers, and Alfie is great to work with. The Hot Hats played at our combined 50th birthdays and 10th wedding anniversary party! We were so very glad we booked Alfie to play at our very special wedding evening Do at the KIngs Arms, Easton in Gordano.  Neither us, or Alfie had very far to go, as this is our local pub!.  Alfie worked with us to come up with three really great sets for the live music.  He then organised playing our favourite tracks in between his sets.  Alfie's charismatic personality was a great hit with our wedding guests and Alfie and Owen's guitar playing was really professional.  The lights, music and PA microphones were all sorted for us so we didn't have to worry about a thing - only making our way to the front to grab the mic to do our speeches.  We would thoroughly recommend the Hot Hats for your Wedding Evening Party.

I booked The Hot Hats to help celebrate our family business Winstones Ice Creams reaching 100 years in Stroud and I am so glad I did, they were AMAZING, entertaining all ages throughout the afternoon. These guys are professional, reliable and talented!

We would like to thank Alfie and James for stepping in at the last minute to play for us at our campsite for our annual fishing match competition presentation evening. If you are looking for versatile and professional musicians Alfie and Owen are a safe pair of hands. They were extremely thoughtful when my planned 70th Birthday party coincided with the recent sad passing of a family member. They were able to lift us all and read the room with sensitivity. They were flexible and willing to respond to our requests, but also ‘held ‘ the situation with confidence . This guitar duo are skilled musicians. They have great musicality and range, entertaining our family with ages from 3 yrs to 70 yrs. Alfie is a prompt communicator and they were 100% reliable in all aspects from booking, arrival , supply of equipment and performance. We had a brilliant night!!

We have known Alfie for at least ten years. He has performed for us with his “Hot Hats“ band every New Years Eve for the past 10 years. His repertoire of songs and his professionalism has each year been complimented by our hotel guests, who have been staying to see in the New Year. He is also great at getting the guests involved and dancing! We have no issues with recommending him. Not only is his music really good, he is a nice guy too.

We booked the Hot Hats for our company summer party – they were perfect for the event. Communication beforehand was clear and easy, and on the day they were so relaxed and self sufficient when setting up that we could get on with organising all the rest of the activities. They created just the atmosphere that we wanted and were lovely throughout…music was great too!

After having had an awful 2022 Matt and I decided to throw a party, we had about 45 people in mind to invite but we wanted a band. I’m always put off by huge ones that you can never really hear the voices and your head and ears ache from the constant boom boom. Finding Alfie on a google search was exciting, they sounded exactly what we were looking for, for our intimate gathering. No problem at all to deal with prior to booking, which was simple and clear, we didn’t know at that time we were in for a treat, wow, the evening was absolutely superb. Alfie and Owens sound is brilliant, you can clearly hear the songs and the music, great vocals, no ear ache, just super super sounds coming from them. The choice of music suited our evening, and the requested songs to play were no problem. They integrated with our guests, some ‘hot’ to handle, and everyone had a fantastic evening, a massive thanks to you guys, it felt like we had friends with us, not a hired in band - and yes, we will see you again! The Hot Hats were an amazing addition to our wedding celebrations. We had seen recommendations prior to booking and after speaking to Alfie we knew they were the perfect duo for our wedding. We booked the Hot Hats for our wedding party because we had seen them perform 4 years previously (when we were in the early stages of dating) and had enjoyed their performance so much that we jokingly said that we would book them for our wedding. So, 4 years later we did!

And they certainly didn’t let us down. The Hot Hats were quite simply brilliant and exactly what we needed, and wanted, for our Wedding evening party. We had a small group of guests of mixed age and all were captivated by the band. Our big worry was that some of the guests would drift off to the quieter parts of the venue and no one would dance. But we needn’t have worried as the boys had their attention and had everyone up and dancing from the start. They performed modern takes on songs from a range of era’s and interspersed this with fun and charming banter. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Communication from the point of my initial enquiry was good, they arrived nice an early to be ready to start on time. In between their 3 live sets, they also provided an appropriate playlist of music (and first dance song) to keep the evening flowing.

We cannot recommend them enough – and nor can our guests based on the many positive comments we received afterwards from them.

OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!!! A huge thank you to Hot Hats whom entertained us on Saturday evening at our outdoor Jubilee Celebrations event in Newport. Planning a wedding is really complicated and there are so many hard decisions, so let’s make this an easy one - just book the Hot Hats! Alfie and the team are absolutely phenomenal, if you want a fun acoustic duo who’ll draw people to the floor or get spontaneous dancing at the bar, these really are your guys. Their choice of music was brilliant and had the full range to suit everyone, all played perfectly.

I’ve seen a number of duos at weddings and whilst many are great musicians, many can be quite sterile, getting up, doing their thing and leaving - the Hot Hats most definite aren’t. They are super-friendly and the audience engagement is amazing, I spent as much time laughing along with them as I did dancing and they expertly wield that engagement to draw people into the party. Having perfectly read the room, they led us into the perfect night of entertainment!

The engagement with Alfie beforehand was brilliant and he made the whole process really straightforward and the day itself also couldn’t have been easier - the Hot Hats turned up early, sorted everything with the venue and even stepped in when we forgot to announce we were cutting the cake! They handle everything musical, they come with some great kit and even run DJ sessions between their sets so you get the full musical package.

So save yourself some party-planning time and just go for them - you really won’t regret it!

The Hot Hats played at my 40th birthday. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Everyone whom attended said how great they were (and my friends and family are not an easy bunch to please). They were extremely engaging with the crowd and overall it was a great set.

We hired the Hot Hats for our intimate wedding in August. They arrived on time and set up quickly, and were an absolute pleasure to have around for the evening. We were amazed by how full their sound was; it felt like we had a full band. The playlist was suitable for all ages and they made the effort to chat to guests and be part of the evening. Alfie also helped us to create a DJ playlist so that the music felt personal to us. Highly recommend!

Alfie and the "Hot Hats" were amazing! They absolutely made our wedding celebration. They were very professional, flexible, reassuring and calm in the run-up to the big day - no dramas, everything was easy, and we knew we were in good hands. They turned up early and brought great sound and light kit with them (easily big enough for our festival-feel outdoors event). They played all the tunes we'd requested beforehand for the DJ set, then proceeded to wow everyone with upbeat live playing and singing from their extensive set list that got everyone to their feet. Alfie was great with the crowd and he and Owen were not only extremely good musicians (we had some professionals in the audience who also commented on how good they were) but also really nice chaps to have around - they just made the whole thing happier and more fun. We booked The Hot Hats for our joint 60th Birthday party on 7th March 2020. The Hot Hats were consummate professionals from the moment we contacted Alfie to make inquiries to the moment they set up and started to play at our party. Their guitar playing and singing were absolutely fantastic, as well as their DJ-ing, and our party would not have been the same without them. A number of our guests asked us how and where we had discovered them and could not believe it when we told them we had found their website on Google! We would not hesitate in recommending The Hot Hats for any occasion, whether it be a small gathering or a large party – they are perfect for any celebration! We would certainly ask The Hot Hats to play at another event of ours… maybe our joint 70th?

We knew we wanted a band for our wedding, and found the Hot Hats by chance via a google search - after watching their YouTube previews we were suitably impressed and got in touch with Alfie who was incredibly helpful. In the run up to the wedding he asked us to provide a list of our favourite tracks and bands for the DJ playlist in between live sets, including our choice of first dance. On the day they arrived in plenty of time, set up without fuss and got the evening well under way, worked with us to ensure the timing of our first dance was when we wanted and interacted well with the guests to ensure the dance floor was full all night. They remembered small details like Queen being my favourite band and included a track in their set which was a nice touch. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Can’t begin to tell you how BRILLIANT you were this weekend! The party wouldn’t have been a party without you! Great guys, great music, great to have you! Awesome.

The setting for our August 2018 wedding was the beautiful Arnos Vale’s Woodland Undercroft. There was a “Gothic Lite” theme to this largely (we had a marquee!) outdoor event which we wanted to be as informal as possible. It was important to us that everybody who was attending or contributing to the event felt that they were able to participate in the occasion as guests.

For this reason we wanted musicians who we felt would “fit in” the with guests as well as playing the type of music that we wanted . Having trawled through various websites we discovered the “Hot Hats” and, having played their version of “Friday I’m In Love”, knew that we didn’t need to look any further. The sound was great and the image of the band was just what we wanted. Having then seen the band play a couple of times, it was clear that the personalities and sound was just what we wanted.

As there was no particular running order for our afternoon reception, our brief to the band was, basically, “play when you think you need to” and this worked a treat. In addition we were played down the aisle to the band playing “I’m A Believer” which was a really special moment for us.

There was good communication at the point of booking which was a painless process and continued contact with Alfie and his agent made arranging the event so much easier.

We loved the band and the guests loved them as well. We would therefore have no hesitation in recommending the “Hot Hats” for your event.

P.S. If there was a downside to our afternoon it was that Alfie (despite his best efforts) was unable to teach the bride to properly strum a guitar but, in the overall scheme of things, we’ll let that pass!

The Hot Hats played at our 60th birthday party on 26/8/18. We had over 60 guests aged teens to 80s and everyone had a brilliant time, singing and dancing to this fab duo. They are charming young men who went out of their way to ensure that the party was a success. A great selection of music and great singers and musicians. They can literally sing and play anything from the 60s to the present day! They create a warm atmosphere and a happy party environment. You could easily get up and dance or just sit and listen. They don’t mind! I would definitely book them for anything. Home garden party, wedding, birthday party...Literally any occasion and any venue. In fact we have already booked Hot Hats for this October! I would totally recommend Hot Hats to anyone and for any event!

The Hot Hats played at our wedding reception in Falmouth - June 2018, and we could not have been happier about the show! We were really struggling to find a band that would do the whole package of music / lights / speakers and DJ set for the evening, combined with requests for a particular mix of 70’s rock through to recent stuff - and the Hot Hats did it perfectly. The style really suited the more laid back summer wedding vibe of Falmouth, but at the same time put on a fun party for the evening that kept people on the dance floor for a good few hours. We were worried that an acoustic set may not have had the impact we we after but we needn’t have worried, the sound was great. Lots of laughter and banter thrown into the mix too and they really connected with the wedding party. I was able to leave these guys to it while I concentrated on the events of the day and they were prompt and ready to go as agreed so had nothing to worry about. We booked Hot Hats to play at our wedding in November 2017. We got married at a small venue and so their 2 person band was perfect. They were highly professional and helped to create the fun and relaxed atmosphere we wanted and were very flexible around our timings for the day. We have had them play in store and found them to be superbly professional and great musicians with a fantastic set list of songs. Thank you to the Hot Hats for playing at our wedding at the Bishops Palace in Wells. There was good communication before and during the evening to make sure they played exactly what we wanted. We booked The Hot Hats for our wedding on 22nd July, his communication and understanding in the planning of the day was amazing. We arrived at our reception to hear them playing and as I walked into the room I was greeted with the warmest smiles.
They played throughout our wedding breakfast in an adjoining room as back ground music, it was perfect. Later they moved to our main hall and set up for the evening do.

The guys played four sets overall and were simply outstanding, everyone had a great time. Their musicianship and showmanship were faultless and they know certainly how to work a crowd. More importantly Alfie and Russ are really nice guys, who were happy to adapt their show to fit in with the several restrictions imposed by the venue. A truly professional outfit, I simply can't recommend The Hot Hats enough for any party! Thanks again guys! Although...maybe include your warm-up Metallica songs in the set next time?

At our wedding in June the Hot Hats had everyone up on the dance floor with a mix of classic tunes and modern songs. It was the perfect mixture of live music and DJ sessions of which we got to chose our favourite songs to be played. All of the guests loved the music choices and were left wanting more. Hot Hats performed an exceptional set at our 50th anniversary celebration at Park Furnishers in Bristol. We enquired whether the set list could be tailored to our 60’s theme and the band were very accommodating, plus provided a selection of co-ordinated background music in between each set. All my thanks to the Hot Hats for a fantastic performance at my 60th birthday party yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed the music and they managed to get the party swinging and dancing.

The Hot Hats played at an event my employers were holding to celebrate 50 years in business and I don't think they could have chosen anyone better. They were asked to play songs from the 60s and they played a fantastic selection of songs from that era. A perfect mixture for the event, and everyone there loved it. I think it's testament of their powers to entertain that there were people who had experienced the songs first time round singing along, getting involved while children danced around to songs they may never have heard before! Alfie was a real gem at our recent wedding. He gave us the attention and care that was needed in a situation that called for versatility, love and respect. He was in every way an ideal choice with a lovely attitude, just what we needed for an unusual wedding with guests spanning all generations, from 4 years old to 90 years old. There was a kindness and generosity of spirit that you don’t often find. Everyone enjoyed his contribution to the wedding and I would book him again and again.

Hot Hats were really great at our wedding, everyone said they really enjoyed the music and we had a lot of fun dancing to them! Alfie also sorted out a personalised playlist of music, which made it really special. Thanks for everything.

We can't thank the Hot Hats enough, particularly Alfie, for being such a fun band. Wow... what a fantastic evening we had at my 65th (didn't really want to admit to that!!!) birthday party at the Avon Gorge Hotel on 19th November 2016. The Hot Hats REALLY made me feel 21 again! The band were so accommodating, arriving early to be set up before guests arrived. They included all my favourite songs either in the playlist or live numbers... a few of the party goers were in bands themselves and had nothing but praise for the musical talents of the Hot Hats. The guests were between the ages of 20 to 70 and everyone was rocking to the music... I cannot praise them enough! At the end of the evening Alfie was dancing with the guests to the final playlist much to everyone's delight...... Absolutely brilliant evening, many many thanks to a FABULOUS band.

We recently hired Alfie's Hot Hats to play at our wedding reception which was held in a small beach café in Dorset. We were keen to have live, acoustic music that would fit the venue and the create an intimate party atmosphere . Alfie judged the day perfectly with low key chilling music through the afternoon whilst people ate and enjoyed the scenery and then switched to something livelier later in the evening when people wanted to dance. I had lots of comments from guests about how good they were and it seems one of the guests is keen to hire them for his own party later this year. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for exceptional performers to play at their wedding.

Thank you to the Hot Hats for playing at our wedding. There was good communication before and during the evening to make sure they played exactly what we wanted. Even between sets our guests enjoyed chatting to them and they mingled well. They arrived early to set up and once they started they got all our guests up dancing, everyone enjoyed the evening and we have received many compliments on their behalf. We cannot fault the Hot Hats and would recommend to all.

When planning our wedding my husband Ben and I were looking for a small band to play outdoors for our guests in the evening, our after party was a little unusual due to it being in my Mum's garden with limited space and access to power we were unsure that having a band would even be possible. All our fears were put to rest as soon as we found The Hot Hats, Alfie assured us that it wouldn't be a problem at all and they would work around the venue with us. The whole process of working with Alfie was a total pleasure, from first contact via email to partying with us in the evening. The music was fantastic all of my guests commented on how brilliant the band were and were devastated when the set had to end! Our wedding was such a special day and the icing on the cake was certainly our wonderful band! All our guests commented on their energy, sense of fun and sheer talent. The wedding was on a Monday night but the band had everyone up and dancing from the first dance right through until the end. From toddlers to my Nan- the band got everyone involved. We booked the Hot Hats for our Silver Wedding party. I was a little nervous about booking a band on-line, but needn't have worried - these guys are awesome! We wanted a small band (because of space) but also wanted fun, energy and everyone up and dancing. These boys delivered - and then some! I had an idea of how I wanted the evening to be and every dream I had was exceeded. These guys were punctual, efficient, polite, professional, fun, charming and they can really play! I lost count of the number of people who commented on how great they were (even my dad!!). The dance floor was full for the entire time they were playing and I think people could have gone on dancing for hours to their music. We unreservedly recommend these lads and are now trying to find another occasion for a party so we can book them again!

They were fantastic from start to finish and suited our wedding to a tee. Guests commented on how much they enjoyed the music, and the fun that was had on the dance-floor was due in large part, to the fantastic effort put in by the guys. Even my wife's 86 year old grandmother was up, dancing to Guns and Roses' Sweet Child of Mine.

Songs to suit all tastes, and an energy and professionalism that would be hard to top.

Myself and Jennie booked Alfie's Hot Hats for our wedding and are we glad that we did!
Alfie was exceptionally helpful in the run up, helping to guide us through choosing set lists, arranging DJ sets in between live performances, offering advice as to what would work and what wouldn't and answering a barrage of emails and questions with constructive help and advice. On the day both guys were flexible enough to change plans at very short notice due to inclement weather and arrived in good time to sound check and perform despite confusion over the venue caused by myself. The guys brought full lighting and PA equipment and both they and the room looked fantastic for our guests to arrive. The music itself was superbly performed with both Alfie and Russ interacting with the guests and getting everyone up on the dance floor for the whole evening with a great mix of old and new classics. I'll particularly never forget their Somerset version of 'Mr Brightside'! The guys went the extra mile even cutting breaks short to ensure we got our money's worth due to a late start caused by us. Overall the guys are thoroughly professional, entertaining and generate the sort of atmosphere you would expect from a much larger group. Our guests without exception have commented how good the band was and how much they enjoyed the evening and that was due in a large part to the Hot Hats.

They first played live entertainment for us at the very grand Clevedon Hall in 2015 and we did not hesitate to ask them to play at this year’s event. This year they performed for us at the equally grand Leigh Court near Bristol, to help us celebrate our recent Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation. Both events were fairly intimate with around 50 guests attending and they provided the perfect background music to both. They played three 40 minute sets with an intermittent playlist to keep the atmosphere lively. Their chilled yet professional approach and happy song selection was perfect for a sunny afternoon. The Hot Hats were fabulous and played until we went inside for the wedding breakfast. Everyone enjoyed them and their music, the boys were very accommodating and played a variety of fantastic tunes from the 60's to current day. They were very professional with regards to the booking and keeping in touch leading up to the event and even on the day. I would have no hesitation in booking them again in the future and would be really keen to attend a public gig.
