James played the bagpipes at a funeral and burial service that I was conducting.
He did exactly what the family wanted.
A fully competent player and a really nice man.
He knew exactly when to ending things playing beautifully as he marched off into the distance and stopped at the perfect moment.
I thoroughly recommend him.

I was lucky enough to be staying in Rosedale Abbey whilst James was on holiday. He chose to practice on his pipes out in the garden. I tracked down the source of the wonderful sound. It was amazing to listen to his skill. He played a piece especially for me when I requested it through a hedge! Suo Gân, make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
A lovely guy, I can assure anyone hiring him it will be money well spent, I will never forget listening to him in the heat of the North Yorkshire Moors. Thank you James.

James is a true gentleman and was a pleasure to have at our Cotswolds wedding. From our very first conversation I knew we were in safe hands and James and his bagpipes made our big day all that more special. Nothing was too much trouble and everything James said he would do, he did, going above and beyond our expectations. The bagpipes were a surprise for our wedding party including my wife. As we walked out of the church ceremony, we were greeted by James who had positioned himself perfectly in the church grounds, playing Flower of Scotland. It was perfect! We loved having James play the bagpipes at our wedding - it was the perfect Scottish touch we were looking for. James was great to work with, so professional and flexible when asked to play at different parts of the day- he was more than happy to wait around without any issues at all. He was also great with getting in touch before the wedding and always answered very quickly if I had any questions. So many guests commented on how great he was - if you are looking for bagpipes for a special event from someone who will be more than happy to interact with guests and really add value to the day, then we definitely recommend choosing James.

James was an absolute dream! From initial communication to preforming on the day, he made the whole experience so easy and could not recommend him enough. James stepped in very last minuet when our other bag piper turned up. He was fantastic throughout the entire process. He has a great repertoire to choose from, was very professional and played beautifully on the day. He even stuck around for a bit afterwards and spoke to some of the guests which was very kind of him. I cant recommend him enough!

James was excellent throughout. Arrived early and checked out indoor/outdoor venue . Adapted tunes and leant family favourites including sone for American guests. Was a big hit with his playing and personality. Totally memorable . Highly recommended.

James came and played the pipes for our 80th anniversary commemorations of D-Day this year (2024). He arrived early to find out more about the event and walk through his role. He was a pleasure to work with; utterly professional; and his piping was second to none. We receive very many appreciative comments about the music he played and how he understood the poignancy of the occasion and played different sorts of music for different aspects of the commemoration.

We have booked him for our annual Arnhem Service in September when we shall be marking the 80th Anniversary of Operation Market Garden.

Phenomenal experience! Despite issues with railway delays, James kept in contact throughout the afternoon, arrived and was ready ahead of time. He worked with my plan for the evening and played more than originally asked for which was a bonus. I had a lot of positive feedback from everyone that heard him play, and would definitely book again.

James was brilliant. He made our Mum's 90th birthday very special. Please thank James so much. We and our Mum will have beautiful memories of her milestone birthday. He looked so professional and smart, he was patient and waited until the meal was completed. He wasn't phased by the rain and wind. We can't thank him enough.
