We LOVED having James for our wedding day! He not only learned multiple songs to fulfill our ceremony requests, but during cocktail hour, he even took on board some songs we'd provided as reference - not required - as to our general vibe that were definitely a bit niche! We are so grateful that James played our wedding - it was the perfect vibe that had been hard to nail down when looking at other musicians; both beautiful acoustic guitar for simpler moments while fun, upbeat one man band gave energy to cocktail hour. James Juke was absolutely incredible at our wedding! From the start, he was so accommodating and easy to communicate with, making the whole process stress-free. He went above and beyond by learning 7 songs just for our big day – including our first dance – and performed each one beautifully. On the day, he was flexible with timings, totally professional, and brought such a vibrant energy to the whole event. Guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing he was! If you want the sound and presence of a full band but don’t have the space, James is the perfect choice. His voice, charisma, and talent are unmatched. We honestly can't recommend him highly enough – now we just need another excuse to hire him again!

Absolutely faultless! James is not only a very talented musician and singer but he is also a really nice guy. His repertoire to choose from was very varied and I got a lot of good feedback from my guests too. I hired a small function room that would have been too small for a full band but James was perfect as his loop pedal skills made his act something for everyone to watch and admire as well as listen to.

James did a fab intro and outro for our wedding celebration and entertained our guests whilst we had drinks. Guests loved the eclectic mix of tracks we picked and James set the tone with an upbeat vibe. Fabulous! Highly recommended.

We absolutely couldn't recommend James highly enough - from start to finish, he was a delight to communicate and work with. James offered a tailored and personalised service, worked with us in an outdoor area in the rain (!!) and still, was an absolute delight. Our guest's all commented on how great James was.

Where to start!

James is a fantastic communicator, and real professional, so we had no worries from the off that we had made the right choice in booking Fugitive.

On the day, we arrived at our evening venue, and James had got caught in some terrible traffic. He didn’t let this ruin our day in any way and worked extra hard to be ready to entertain our guests. James has a great love of music, this is so easy to see, he takes pride in his output and really listens to what you want.

I nearly got into an argument with my newly wedded wife as James was so good that I didn’t want to keep going off for photos! You won’t regret booking James, and we will continue to follow him on socials and Music apps to see him continue his career. A true professional with a lot of talent!

James, we cannot thank thank you enough for your professionalism, quick responses, and being INCREDIBLE at our wedding drinks reception. We were immediately blown away by your videos and talent, and needless to say, you did not disappointment! We received so many comments from our guests on how fantastic you were. You had people dancing, singing and your outstanding performance really the set the tone for the rest of our day. Our only regret is that we didn't personally get to enjoy even more of your amazing skills, having been so busy catching up with guests (and away for photos) throughout the drinks reception! 😅

This is the second time we’ve seen James perform and each time he’s been brilliant. We chose a set list before the party and James was very quick at communicating with us when we got in touch with questions. The guests all commented on how wonderful James’s set was and we will definitely hire him again.

James was a life saviour for accepting our last minute request to play at our wedding as our initial entertainer had broken it's leg. Prior to outr wedding we had an online chat to make sure what he need of us and for us to share what we envisioned our evening entertainment to be like. James was so very kind to even learn a specific accoustic version of a song just for our first dance which was amazing! He is very talented, kind and will make your guests have an amazing time. After seeing James perform when we were out for dinner one night, we were excited to have him at our wedding and he did not disappoint. James and the Giant Beat was totally our vibe, I heard him at a wedding fair and he then came to play at our wedding last weekend 8.6.24. All email communications were clear and efficient and so friendly! He provided us with a songs list and we chose from that, a mix of older songs and current. He played 2 x 1 hour sets for us and was really well received by our guests as well as us of course. Would highly recommend James to anyone. Thank you James!

James went down an absolute storm at our wedding and he was everything we hoped for!

Moreover than the performance itself, on the day, there was a small hiccup in relation the DJ becoming delayed (who was playing straight after James). Once this was communicated to James, he seamlessly carried on his performance until they arrived, keeping us, and our friends and family dancing and singing with his extensive repertoire - our guests were non the wiser of the delay, and the vibe was awesome.

Having seen James and the Giant Beat several times previously we were delighted to have him perform at my husbands 60th Birthday party last Saturday. From my first communications with him he was courteous and helpful and with a huge repertoire of songs to chose from, it was easy to pick hubby’s favourites - plus all the crowd pleasers! On the night James was punctual and engaged early on with the crowd. Before we knew it many guests were up and dancing and in the second set the place was literally rocking. Many guests commented on how much they enjoyed James’s unique and quirky interpretation of songs and how much fun it was trying to guess the song from the intro. I would have no hesitation booking him again, really amazing ?

James provided 3 hours of musical magic for our wedding on 18/02/23. Having found him on lastminute musicians.com and seen some of his YouTube videos, we contacted him and he replied speedily. Over subsequent months, we emailed, talked and video-called about the details of his set. His own repertoire was vast and we had no difficulty picking out songs we liked. James very generously offered to learn some songs for us too - we nominated a song called The Dancing Floor by Runrig which he sang and played beautifully, bringing his own soulful interpretation to it.

James is a very talented singer and guitarist whose use of loop pedals and digital effects produced an extremely full and satisfying sound, more like a band than a solo artist. Our family and friends were very appreciative of his performance, many of whom took to the floor well in advance of the disco that followed!

Paula and I would have no hesitation in recommending James for any event where music is required and appreciated. For our wedding, James provided a bespoke, delightful and memorable set which was the centrepiece of our big day and did so with sensitivity and professionalism.

Finally, for everything that James did in the preparation and in the performance, he provided astounding value for money.

James played 2 sets at our 40th birthday party and he was absolutely fantastic. He was really professional in the run up to the party, arrived with plenty of time to set up, and his music really set the tone for our party. It was a big talking point and everyone loved it!

James came to Bristol to perform at our wedding and he was absolutely fantastic! We had a great chat beforehand discussing songs he could play and how to organise the sets to reflect our music choices. He worked on some new arrangements for us, at our request, and included a last minute 'happy birthday' arrangement too for our guests. He was amazing when we had to reschedule the wedding (twice!) and was speedy in communications in the build up to the final date. On the day, James continued to be fantastic. Everyone loved his music and he really got the party started! Friends have already asked for his contact details to have him at their events. My favourite part? Please look no further than James. Booking someone to perform at an event, when you haven't previously heard them live, is always going to be a risk, my husband and I were anxious, this booking was going to make or break the party.
Well no fears were necessary at all, from start to finish James was so professional. Superb communication before the party re play lists and what type of music we were into so that he could include our favourites, even though not on his extensive playlist. He was also so accommodating as to timings, in short nothing was too much trouble for him. Our guests thought he was great as we did, James is a super talented musician with a lovely voice and we are just so happy to have found him. Book him, you won't be disappointed!

Absolutely fantastic! James travelled to Barton Manor Barn on the Isle of Wight for our Wedding reception. James was not only professional, on time, looked the part etc but his music is fab and absolutely made our Wedding, which was held in a Country Barn with family and friends. James liaised effortlessly with the catering staff, registrar and guests to ensure that he was positioned so that everyone had the utmost enjoyment from his music, without being intrusive. He moved his entire set/equipment several times as the weather was not kind on our big day, meaning changes to our original plans. His vocals are great and music repertoire unlike any I have heard before, and should we ever have the occasion to require music again on the Isle of Wight or within his travelling distance we would definitely book again! James supported our Association Dinner at our National Sailing Championships in Weymouth. He was fantastic and everyone was really positive. Audience age ranged from 14 to at least 84 - so not easy to appeal to everyone but James managed this really well. Would definitely recommend and would definitely book again.

James was excellent and added an extra dimension to our party. He was incredibly entertaining and very talented, all our guests commented on how impressed they were with him and his music. James does a really interesting twist on lots of music genres and I could listen to him again and again.
He was also a real pleasure to deal with both during the booking process and on the night and was very keen to ensure the playlist was what we wanted, even learning several new songs which are favourites of mine. I would not hesistate to recommend James or book him again, just need another excuse for a party now!

I can't put in to words how amazing James was at our wedding not only was he a wonderful performer but also an absolute pleasure to deal with. He completely made our wedding reception by creating the best atmosphere, to be stood outside our wedding venue and hearing all your guests singing and clapping is somthing that is just priceless to us. all of our guests said James was amazing, at least 2 other couples asked for his details so they could also book James. I recently had james play at my wedding and I have seen him play a few times before and each time I have seen him he has never failed to amaze me with his talent! At my wedding though he was very accommodating to all the little extra stuff I asked of him and his music was just flawless! And he is just a genuinely nice guy!! We recently attended a wedding where James was playing and we were all blown away, he was so good, professional and accommodating. His voice and the style of music couldn't be better... would highly recommend him.

I hired James to perform at a family garden party with about 70 guests. We spoke on the telephone prior to the party and he took details of what the occasion was about and various other pieces of information which gave him a good feel for the event before it happened. He turned up precisely on time and set his equipment up before guests arrived. He was dressed in contemporary style and looked every part the rock star. He then, in the most inspired manner, welcomed my guests and introduced himself over the microphone. I am a musician and I can therefore categorically say that James is a mucisian of the highest talent. It was a sunny day and it was hot. His first set lasted 2 hours by which time he had enthralled all my guests with his skill on guitar, his profound knowledge of pedals and loops, his excellent singing voice and range but, above all, his personality which came over like a tsunami of warmth and personality. James is an absolute dude and his contribution to my garden party was immense. He is a considerate and caring person and the complete professional. He looks the part and is the part and my guests warmed to him, asked for requests and sang along. Organising a large party is a lot of work, but James took much of the worry of my shoulders by his microphone manner and the amazing quality of his performance. We booked James from the last minute musicians website for our wedding. He played for over 2 hours for our guests during the early evening and played a huge part in the success of our day. His own chosen repertoire of covers and original tracks was perfectly picked, all delivered in his own unique and brilliant style. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking to book a musician for any special event. He has definitely collected some followers after our wedding, many of whom I'm sure, like us will be appearing at his forthcoming gigs in and around the local area.

James came to our 4th July garden party and was absolutely fantastic , he turned up on time set up within minutes and entertained my guests all evening , We booked James from 8-10 as we where having an outside movie night but we cancelled the movie and extended James set , highly recommended and will defiantly book James again .

James is such a joy to listen to. His style is so original and his skill with sound and foot pedals amazed everyone. Lots of our guests asked us who James was and how we found him as they were so impressed with the music at the party. In addition, James was really good at communicating with us before the party to discuss arrangements and favorite songs. I would definitely book him again and really recommend him.

We booked James after listening to his sample tracks on this website - we wanted live entertainment even though we had a small wedding venue and only 40 guests. James didn't disappoint! He is hugely versatile and entertaining, and everyone was impressed with his performances (he did two sets for us). James is an amazing musician. He was really accommodating of all our song requests and our first dance song was just perfect.

Hired a large house on Selsey seafront (THE BEACH HOUSE ) for my wife's suprise birthday party with friends and family, James did two sessions starting at 8:30pm finishing about 11pm..... He was amazing.... Everyone was asking where I had got him from, who recommended him and so on.....10/10.... Topped off a fantastic few days..... Making memories.....cheers James
