Marek is a pianist with a first-class bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Manchester and over 10 years of performance experience, including playing at pubs, drinks receptions and society balls. He performed with the Manchester University Big Band for two years in venues ranging from the Midland Hotel to Matt and Phred’s Jazz Club and has played many jazz/pop functions in smaller groups. On top of this, he has performed widely as a classical soloist, including a recent performance of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Manchester University Symphony Orchestra, and has been recognised for his high-quality performances, receiving the Procter-Gregg Prize for Performance for his second-year recital from the University of Manchester's School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.

I really enjoyed playing at Matt and Phred’s Jazz Club with the Manchester University Big Band last year.
Jazz inspirations include Nat King Cole, Oscar Peterson, Fats Waller and Hank Jones. Classical inspirations include Marc-André Hamelin, András Schiff and Boris Giltburg.
