Paolo Coruzzi is a multi-talented Italian artist based in London, known for his distinctive blend of songwriting, composition, guitar performance, and stage direction. His artistic voice is rooted in emotion, storytelling, and a refined melodic sensibility that bridges pop, folk, classical, and world influences.
Active since 1992, Paolo has composed and produced numerous solo albums, each showcasing his ability to craft intimate soundscapes and evocative lyrics. His music often draws from personal experience, travel, poetry, and cultural traditions, offering listeners a rich palette of colours and atmospheres. He has also created original soundtracks for theatre productions and written songs for other artists, reinforcing his versatility across genres. His poetic style earned him first prize at the Pirandello Stable Festival in 2012.
Paolo’s artistic path naturally expanded into theatre and cinema. Trained at drama school in London, he developed a keen sense of stagecraft, pacing, and emotional direction—skills that continue to inform his live performances. Since 2002, he has written and directed several plays, including reinterpretations of works by Ionesco, Euripides, and Ibsen, staged across UK venues.
Beyond performance, Paolo is a passionate educator, teaching Italian Literature, Humanities, Music, and Drama. His academic background includes an MA in Humanities and Arts from the University of Turin, a Diploma in Classical Guitar from Trinity College London, and an MA in Archaeology from University College London.
He is currently completing a PhD at Cardiff University on the transformation of Paleo-Christian rock-cut tombs and churches across the Mediterranean basin—a project that deepens the contemplative and historical dimensions of his artistic work.
Paolo is also the founder of SounVid, a video–audio–photo production company, and the author of Viandanti nelle terre del sole, a collection of Italian poems, as well as FAB Guitarist, a practical guide for aspiring guitarists.
