It felt so fitting to have a majestic piper for my wonderful dad’s final farewell. My Dad loved the majestic sound of the bagpipes, so finding the right person was incredibly important to me. I needed someone who was not only professional, talented and kind, but who also understood that this would be an incredibly difficult and emotional day for our family.

You marched proudly in front of the hearse in the pouring rain, playing so beautifully. Whilst our hearts were (and still are) completely broken, your music brought such honour and meaning to my Dad’s final journey.

Thank you for very kindly staying and standing with our family, even waiting until the service had completely finished.

I wholeheartedly recommend Andrew for any occasion. He is professional, patient, compassionate and exceptionally talented, but above all, has genuine kindness that shines through.

Your excellent musicianship on the Pipes helped create a very special atmosphere, which has left a deep impression on everyone attending. Absolutely excellent. With minimum instructions did everything we wanted and more. Really lovely at the end how he marched off playing the pipes. Very poignant. Arrived everywhere he needed to be prepared and ready. Really couldn't have been better. The last thing you need is to be stressing at a funeral and to have someone know exactly what they are doing and when to do it was a god send. Was really lovely performance. My mum would have loved it.

When I was booking Andrew for my mother's funeral, he gave me a lot of details about the different points at which he could play the pipes, specfically Highland Cathedral. He was extremely helpful, polite and patient with me. I had to discuss and agree the idea of having a piper, with family, the vicar and also the funeral director - the latter heard that I had found Andrew Brian and he told me to book him immediately. It transpires that they had met each other at a previous funeral. So, for me that was endorsement enough. Andrew was marvellous and turned a sad day into something rather fitting and beautiful. I am so grateful.

Andy played the bagpipes today at my dads funeral he was amazing very proffsional he lead the hearse from the main entrance all the way to the graveside played minstrel boy then played Danny boy one of my dads favourites then finished off with a beautiful ending. Andy I would recommend 100 percent all who attended the funeral today were amazed at Andy talent and professionalism he blown us all away with his talent . ( perfect) Many thanks Joanne and family

When we enquired if Andrew would be available for my Father's funeral, i was extremly impressed by the personal empathy he has shown in making sure the music was as we would like.
I cannot explain the emotions experienced in having Andrew pipe my Father's Hurst arriving to the crematorium , my Father would have loved every second.
The sound was pitch perfect, a credit to a true musician, every note resonated true feelings, for which I cannot thank Andrew enough.
You only have one chance to say goodbye, and I wouldn't want anyone other than Andrew as my piper to portray those emotions.

From start to finish (booking to playing on the day) the best service once could possibly imagine, great attention to detail, patiently waited for our much delayed friend topped of with several first class renditions, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Andrew if you’re looking for a piper, call him up and you will not be disappointed

When I called Andy to first enquire about playing at my grandfathers funeral he was very professional, kind and helpful. We arranged for him to play and he was quick to book us in. Me and my family also asked if he new of a drummer to also play alongside him which he did and sorted this all out for us, we were so grateful!
On the day of the funeral everything went as planned and Andy did everything we wanted perfectly! He played just beautifully, my grandfather would be extremely proud and would of most definitely cried hearing the beautiful music being played, he was a very proud Scotsman! Thanks again Andy you made our day so special for a wonderful send off for our hero John!

From first contact Andrew was very professional, he helped in identifying the right tunes for our sad occasion. Communication throughout the booking was second to none. On the day Andrew turned up with plenty of time to discuss the arrangements, he was very smartly dressed in full uniform. Andrew stayed behind to chat with all those that were inquisitive and answered any questions with dignity and great knowledge. I have no hesitation in recommending Andew.

My Mum's funeral service had to be shortened to 20 minutes, the attendees were limited, masked and sat apart - I still wanted to make the occasion a celebration of her life, memorable and significant and I'm so thankful for Andrew's involvement - without his impeccable performance and grand appearance there would have been no ceremony or gravitas to proceedings. Everyone commented on how good he was and I know my Mum would have loved how clearly and soulfully he played- the three pieces were all beautiful.
Andrew was friendly, helpful and easy to deal with- going out of his way to accommodate my requests, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any occasion.

I booked Andy for my mums funeral and he was fantastic, his professionalism and playing skills were out of this world.

We contacted Andrew after cancelling my Mum’s Birthday party due to concerns with social distancing. Andrew was prompt with replying and extremely helpful. His website is easy to use and informative. We chose music with Andrew’s help. He was punctual on the day and was extremely professional. My Mum was over the moon. Andrew also looked superb in full uniform. Many thanks for making it such a special day. Highly recommended without reservation.

Andrew was incredible.
It was my Grans 80th on the 31st August. Due to lockdown she has be isolating since the start so has been able to see any family. My Gran is Scottish and has always loved the bagpipes.
I wanted to do something special for her so I booked Andrew as a surprise so turn up at her house and play a few songs.
Andrew was amazing, had my gran in tears. Played all the songs we requested beautifully. Such a memorable day.
I can’t highly recommend Andrew enough. So professional and outstanding.

Andy played at our wedding in Cumbria this weekend. He was absoultey superb and gave our day a really special touch. Andy is the utmost professional and a brilliant talent on the pipes. Wanted to drop you a line in appreciation of your fantastic performance yesterday.

To see you looking so fabulous in Highland dress as we pulled up to the gates at Altrincham Crematorium and begin to play Lest we Forget, it was breathtaking. Followed by the Skye Boat Song, a song my Mum sang to her grandchildren when they were babies, it was delightful.

Our driver opened our windows, the six of us (myself, sister and four brothers) listened in wonder as you played perfectly, how I wish my Mum could have been there, she would have just loved it.

Thank you so, so much Andy, you made mine and my families memories of the day so much more special.

What can I say! Andy was absolutely amazing. I can't thank him enough for his professionalism and attention to detail at such a sad occasion as my Mums funeral. Andy looked and sounded fabulous and really set the scene for my dear Mum and our whole family. Even the funeral director said he'd never experienced anything quite like it, that he'd heard pipers before at funerals but when Andy played it sent shivers down his back as he followed Andy playing the bagpipes and leading my Mum to her final resting place alongside my dear Dad. Thank you so much Andy.

Andrew was absolutely brilliant this was a suprise for our son in law and he made his day. Andrew gave his advise on times, his help in planning and played appropriate music needed to help make our daughter and son in laws day everything they dreamed of, very good value for money would highly recommend.thank you so much.

On a very hot day Andrew went above and beyond the call of duty he made our wedding a very special day and never complained when ask to stay out of sight has it was a suprise and even stayed longer to pipe us to the top table looked absolutely amazing and had more photos taken with him than the bride . Would highly recommend Andrew he was faultless .

He made our day complete professional well presented even wore our family tartan which made it extra special waited as we were running abit late would definitely, recommend thank you.

At short Notice Andrew played the pipes at a veterans funeral. To say the family, friends and Veterans were overwhelmed was an understatement. Immaculately turned out and the music he played for the family of a late veteran was very apt and note perfect. I would highly recommend Pipe Major Andrew Paton for any event whether it be Funerals, Wedding, Events etc... Absolutely outstanding...
