Reviews of Scotland Strings (duo, trio or quartet)

We booked the string duo for our small wedding to play the ceremony and drinks reception. They were absolutely fantastic! There was good communication prior to the event and they were very accommodating with song choices. During the event they bravely played during some questionable weather under a parasol. They played beautifully and adapted seamlessly to ceremony timings. Thank you so much for making our day!

Morag and her team of musicians were exceptional. Communication in the build up to the event and on the evening prior was professional and friendly. The repertoire they were able to play was extensive and they were even willing to learn a new piece of music for the evening which was hugely appreciated. Just brilliant, thank you, Caroline

We just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for playing so beautifully at Winton House last Saturday. The trio playing “For the Love of a Princess” for my entrance was incredibly beautiful and really captured the mood perfectly. We are just sorry we didn’t get to hear more of you as we were getting our photos done!

Just a very quick note to say that the musicians were absolutely fantastic yesterday, unfortunately the weather tried to stop the show but we managed – wonderful atmosphere.

Thank you immensely for the absolutely superb performance at Ratho Parish Church. The success of a wedding relies so much on background music and Scotland Strings certainly excelled in that regard. Personally, Gill and I missed out somewhat as our arrival, by dint of normal bride and father custom and practice, occurred in the late stages of your performance. However, our guests spoke very highly indeed of your presence and delivery and raved of how the quality enhanced a momentous occasion. The trio were amazing. Not only that, Davie Christie was friendly and VERY funny. We wished they could have played longer.

We booked The Quartet in Edinburgh for our wedding. They played beautifully for the ceremony and reception and were very professional. They also gave us helpful advice on picking the music before the big day. The booking process was straightforward as well.

Hi, just a quick email to say a big big thank you for performing at our wedding last Sunday (29th May 2016) at Carberry tower. Although I missed the majority of you playing before the ceremony (sorry for being so late!!) we have had lots of guests saying how fantastic you were. I’m so sorry I didn’t get to speak to you on Thursday to say thank you for the wonderful music (on 8th October 2015 at Lothian Chambers, Edinburgh) , both Martin and I were caught up in the whirlwind of emotions! Thank you so much, it really made the atmosphere so special and I know our guests enjoyed hearing you play. In particular your version of ‘One Day Like This’ was amazing.

We were thrilled with the music! (On the 15th of May 2015 at Oxenfoord Castle). We thought you guys did a fantastic job during the ceremony. We have had a chance to look back at some of the videos and the pieces that we asked you to learn sounded great (2 new arrangements of Irish folk pieces). Unfortunately we missed most of the music during the drinks reception due having photos taken, but we spoke to lots of guests who all said the music was brilliant.  And I believe a few of the Canadian’s were trying to pressure you into staying longer – sorry about that!  Overall we had a great day, and we think our guests did too, and you and your players were a big part of that, so we’d like to thank you for your great effort.

Thank you so much to Scotland Strings playing beautiful pieces of music throughout our wedding ceremony at Mansfield Traquair 29th March 2015. The string quartet created the most amazing and romantic atmosphere as our guests arrived, and it made the moment I walked down the aisle feel magical. They continued through our drinks reception, keeping our guests delighted and entertained while we snuck away for some time with the photographer. I would definitely recommend The Quartet – a talented and professional group of musicians playing effortless and seamless renditions of popular and traditional music. Thank you for being part of our special day and making it the most wonderful moment of our lives.

Good communications during the planning of the wedding music, we had to make a couple of last minute changes, nothing drastic, but these were accommodated without any issues. Although, as the bride, I missed out on the largest percentage of the music at the start, what I did hear was very professionally performed. We were both very pleased with the service received.

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding. You made everything so easy from when we first booked right through to the day itself. You really helped the day go well. I would certainly recommend The Quartet to any one getting married!

We are just back from our honeymoon and the first thing on my to do list was to thank you and your colleagues for helping to make our day so memorable. The sound of The Quartet playing Pachelbel’s Canon as I came into the church was just beautiful and I will always remember it. Thank you so much!
