​We never actually got to speak on the day but I wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the Band for an amazing evening. 

You were all so professional and fun and made our wedding so memorable. I was so impressed that there was always a full compliment of dancers on the floor which is always testament to the skills of caller and band - people couldn't wait to get up to dance. I only wish my dress would have allowed a little more dancing for myself - however it was a joy to watch people having a great time. 

I have had so many comments on how fantastic you all were and where we managed to find you! 

Thank you again for such a wonderful and memorable evening for us and our guests.

​Katie and I just wanted to drop you a quick note to pass on our thanks to the guys for this Saturday at Cote How as it was an absolutely brilliant evening, and everyone had a great time.

The guys from the band were brilliant and couldn’t have been more helpful on the night and were really nice all round personally too.

Needless to say, we had a mixture of amateurs, those who have done quite a view barn dances and then the down right dreadful (think that’s the group I was in

My wife and I had a black tie/kilted dinner dance recently with over 90 guests of all ages. The highlight of the evening was the Northern Reel Collective.They had everyone up dancing and having fun and with a professional dance caller it all went incredibly well. We would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone looking for a traditional, energetic, professional Ceilidh Band .

Apologies that this thank you is long overdue, and that I didn't get much time on the day to say hi and thank you in person (it went so quick!!).

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and the band for playing at our wedding at Thornton Manor Lakeside Marquee on 26 October.

You were absolutely fantastic. The ceilidh was brilliant and the calling was a lot of fun! You kept everyone going and having a great time, despite the chaos of a bunch of English folk trying it out for the first time! I really appreciated you playing the first dance song - it meant a lot to me and sounded fantastic (even if it did have the grandparents in tears!). I will not hesitate to recommend you.

Thank you so much for playing at our wedding last month. Everyone had such a great time. The Ceildh was perfect as it got everyone up and dancing, and no-one felt self-conscious. You played a really good mix of songs that suited all abilities and provided great guidance. It was great to end with "Strip the willow" and a 30 second "spin-as-fast-as-you-can". My husband and I danced to as many of the songs as we could, and we were knackered by the end. You really read the room, allowing breaks and continuing with the Ceildh as long as people were dancing (as we had booked the DJ package). We booked you as you had played at my friends wedding in April '17 and we had never had so much fun dancing before. We would fully recommend you to anyone planning an event, especially a wedding. I would also suggest you to anyone who isn't sure what entertainment to have.

The Northern Reel Collective played at our wedding in August 2018 and were absolutely exceptional. I had so many people say to me on the night and afterwards how brilliant they were. We requested to start with everyone together, rather than a traditional first dance, and they made it work perfectly. The caller was fantastic and so engaged with the audience - even getting off stage to demonstrate. It was 32 degrees during the day but people still wanted to keep dancing - at other ceilidhs I've been to guests have given up and not danced much. We provided a playlist for after and they put it together so everything flowed nicely and honestly we just had the best time! I highly highly recommend them (and have literally been telling newly engaged strangers to look them up!)

The Northern Reel Collective played at the evening reception for my wedding on 30/03/2018. They were brilliant, and my guests were singing their praises. Quite a few guests had not ceilidh danced before, but nearly everyone had a go and enjoyed themselves. The well-practised Scottish contingent also enjoyed the music and dancing. My seven-year-old cousins are still talking about the dancing and what fun they had. Even the groom's 90-year-old granny was able to dance one of the slower dances. Michael did the calling on the day, giving clear instructions for people to follow; he was also great to deal with in the booking process. I can’t recommend them highly enough! Thanks, guys!

Thank you to The Northern Reel Collective who played at our mum's 60th birthday ceilidh last weekend. It was a fantastic evening and everyone had a great time! The music was excellent and the caller did a great job of keeping everyone in check. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to others.

We wanted to say thank you to The Northern Reel Collective for our fantastic wedding reception. We thoroughly enjoyed it. There were many there who had never taken part in a ceilidh before and said how much the enjoyed it.

Had our annual undergraduate ball at The Balmoral last week. Was a great night and that was in large part down to The Northern Reel Collective's awesome performance. The ceilidh was undoubtedly the highlight of the night. Would highly recommend them to anyone else running an event. Quite simply, a fantastic ceilidh band!

Loved this brilliant band, they were so great at my daughter's wedding today. Professional but warm and friendly at the same time, I highly recommend them. Thank you for being such a special part of the day.

We were fortunate enough to have The Northern Reel Collective play for us and our guests at our wedding on Skye. They were superb - lively, helpful and of course talented and fun. I can think of no finer way to have ended our big day - I can't recommend them highly enough.

This is an email to thank you for playing at the Flodygarry last Saturday.

We are just back from a week between Applecross and Shieldaig which was wonderful – and that is why I haven’t emailed sooner. We were really grateful for you all playing on our big day – and letting us know what we needed to do and when with the dancing! The playing brought the whole ceremony to life and several guests said later how impressed they were with the band, the party and how you helped the day. I know it wasn’t the biggest venue you will have ever played – but it was quite something to hear you all in a small bar on the very edge of Skye. I can’t thank you enough and wish you all the very best. We would be very happy to provide a review / reference if you have need of such things on social media etc!

We had the BEST day, thank you so much for being a part of it. The ceilidh was amazing. I loved seeing all our family and friends dancing together. There were lots of achey people on Sunday! The bestmen are already keen to recreate the basket dance! Sorry I didn't really get to say hello to you and your band. We will thoroughly recommend you to anyone else.

Just to say a big thank you to the band for the fantastic ceilidh at Clare and Tony’s wedding in Anglesey. It was a real hit and everyone absolutely loved it. The music was great and the calling was excellent. It was the first ceilidh for quite a few people and you were very patient! It was a lovely atmosphere and loads of fun – a great end to a wonderful day. Perfect band for a wedding!

The music and calling were truly excellent, and so many of our guests have told us how much they enjoyed the ceilidh - the fitness test component included..... I'd just like to say a HUGE thank you to Michael and the band for performing at our special Anniversary Ceilidh in Bristol last month. Everyone had so much fun, I'm definitely glad that we found a real Scottish Ceilidh band. The calling was especially good as we had rather a few newbies to Ceilidh's, the gradual increase of pace was just perfect.

I can't recommend The Northern Reel Collective highly enough! They entertained all the guests at our Christmas wedding with flair, enthusiasm and energy. I had so much fun spinning the evening away and was extremely impressed with the music choice, delivery and relaxed approach. Many happy guests and an on the spot first dance with the bridal party later - I wish I could do it all again!

Thank you so much for being a fabulous part of our Burns NIght Celebrations over the weekend. Everyone had a great time and said how refreshing it was to have a young enthusiastic Ceilidh Band! We will definitely be looking to book you in early next year! Jen x

Hired Michael and the band for our daughter's 21st party. Really fabulous evening everyone got up to dance straight away. With the help from the caller made us all look like we knew what we were doing. Would recommend them.

Went to ceilidh in Glasgow on Sat. 8/8/15, had a great night . The Northern Reel Collective where excellent and the Caller who played drums was top class and kept everyone on their toes.

We were itching at the bit to dance and you got feet tapping from the start - even during your little sound check. The band were AWESOME! Streets ahead of everyone else we considered. Michael was a lovely guy who really kept the atmosphere rocking - not that we needed much encouragement - and the whole celebration was utterly magical.
