I am happy to learn new contemporary pieces of your choosing by arrangement.
One of my harps has extended soundboard so great acoustically. For pubs I have full kit of amp and mic.
no sorry, but for gothic gigs I have dark flowers and lighting to decorate the harp
Are there stairs? Is there space to get in? Distance from audience to harp? Is there alcohol involved? Is there parking or stop off space for the harp? Will it be indoors or outdoors? Will there be a cover?
I am very happy to play Spotify music before and after my set, and to use a playlist in sync with the event.
My best gig currently was at a large Church event in Somerset. The audience was huge, and it was amazing to also mix with artists I'd never worked with.
The greatest song of all time is Bohemian Rhapsody, a wonderful mix of soundscapes and vocal ranges. I am most influenced by the likes of Xavier de Maistre and Lauren Scott for harp composition and performance. For folk music, I am inspired by Alisdair Roberts, Edwina Hayes, and bands such as The Brother Brothers. My favourite artist of all time has to be Freddie Mercury.
I started gigging last year, shortly after completing my diploma in harp performance. I also started recording and distributing my original music, which is very well received. Before becoming a harpist, I was a recorder player and musical theatre professional, with a wide range of performing experience.
I love all kinds of events, especially weddings, but even a humble pub gig can be incredible meeting the people who have come to see you.
I'm entirely flexible. I tend not to perform on the harp for more than 45 minutes, with 15 minute rest periods. The same is similar for singing gigs. But again, we can be led by your needs and my physical potential!
Occasionally in the summer I will perform outside with the harp, but they are temperamental, easily damaged, and very expensive, so need to take care. However, a gazebo, or a bandstand has often worked well.
I am happy to learn specific songs or music for events, but we need to discuss. It is straightforward to learn a traditional O'Carolan piece, but longer for, say, a Debussy piece to be performance ready. If the event is in the future, say next year, we can obviously chat about adding pieces to the repertoire.
The harp is described as beautiful, angelic, haunting, and atmospheric. The singing is described as warm, great range, and versatility.
