The Soul Department Sizzling soul, Stax and Motown with live horns - Midlands based

The Soul Department are based in the West Midlands and are a nine-piece collective of first class musicians and singers, guaranteed to make the very best of your special occasion. From weddings and parties to corporate events and functions, we have an enviable reputation for professional performances and excellent sound quality, playing all the songs you know and love (and some you have forgotten!).

The band have been together for many years with performances and recommendations that do credit to our musicians and singers who give their all, time after time.

Singers

Joe is our charismatic front man and lead singer with the versatility to handle the raunchiest of numbers to the softest of ballads. Lydia is an outstanding vocalist, belting out everything from Mavis Staples to Tina Turner and beyond! In addition, a number of the band perform vocal harmonies, giving real depth and quality to the music that few bands match.

Musicians

The back line to our Department are a rock solid, four-piece foundation of top class players consisting of drums, bass, guitar and keyboards with soul in their blood. The icing on the cake comes in the form of a 3-piece horn section of two saxes and a trumpet, with the saxes doubling on baritone, tenor and alto.

Standard package of 2x45 minute sets, full professional sound and lighting, full PLI is from £1500 for events local to the West Midlands. We also offer background music between sets to save on a separate DJ, we can learn and perform your special first dance, and adapt set times to suit you and your event.
