Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I will need access to a plug socket if using the larger set up, as well as approximately 1.5x1.5m2 of space to operate in. The closer I can park to the venue and performance area, the quicker and easier it will be for me to set up.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I can provide a flexible amplification set up. I can use a battery powered mini speaker for tight spots, or I can fill a large room too.

What information do you require about a venue?

Please let me know as much about it as possible, especially if parking is tricky or if there are any specific directions I will need to follow in order to reach it.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I am happy to play music up to 15 minutes before and after my sets, as well as in between during breaks. I can provide a longer service for an additional fee where I will carefully curate a playlist just for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I have three favourites. The most recent was my first cruise ship contract, onboard P&O Arvia in their 700+ seat theatre. The shows were a great time, as was sailing the world and seeing the sights! My biggest audience was to over 2000 people at Swindon Oktoberfest 2018, for which I had less than 24 hours' notice! Finally, I have good memories of a lounge concert I did to 4 people on Christmas day, to people with nowhere to be for the holiday season. To share a special moment with them was joyous, you could see how much they appreciated the music.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Lots! This changes all the time, especially as I play in lots of styles. I love Louis Prima's boundless energy and creativity, Louis Armstrong's classic voice and style, George Formby's cheeky lyrics and awesome ukulele skills, Hawaiian ukulele masters Lyle Ritz and Ohta San for their considered and unique approaches to the ukulele. I could go on...

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Sometime in mid-2011, a young boy picked up his first ukulele, quickly becoming fascinated with the instrument. 12 years later and I became the first person to use the ukulele for an entire music degree, graduating in 2023 with first class honours.

Thanks to a life-long connection and expertise with the instrument, I have developed a wide skill set and a popular range of shows, whilst showing no signs of slowing down.

My first public performance was 2014 at a local festival stage, which was followed by more and more gigs until it somehow spiraled into a full-time profession. I love every minute of it and have been blessed to perform at some great venues to wonderful audiences.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I love all performances, be it in a lounge to four people to a huge festival stage to over 2000 people. I can adapt my performance style to suit the event and we always have a great time singing and laughing!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I like to arrive before any guests do, so that I can get set up quickly and out of anybody's way. The set up can take anywhere between 30-60 minutes, depending on the amount of amplification needed and the ease of access to my car.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, but only if cover is able to be provided to fully ensure that everything of mine is under dry shelter.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am always open to suggestions, requests and any other way that I can make my shows more enjoyable for my clients. Please let me know if you have an idea and I will do my best to accommodate. There may be constraints on how many requests I can take.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Usually, nobody knows what to expect when I arrive. Yet, by the end, they are blown away by the variety, spectacle and versatility that I can display. My shows aim to bring a bit of nostalgia to peoples' minds, as well provide something modern and fun for all to enjoy.

How come you offer so many services?

I am a ukulele specialist, meaning I have studied many different areas of the instrument throughout history. I have been fortunate enough to be able to turn these into fully fledged acts, offering a wide range of styles from cabaret to classical, jazz to vintage, Hawaiian to originals.
