Review Centre: Solo Musicians

"We booked Nick for a 50th party, all being fans of bands like Queen and also loving anything in the way of 80s music (and we are big 80s movies fans!) we'd been after someone who could play a varied selection outside in the garden. And what a set Nick put on for us! Played in 2 halves with a short break, he must have been playing for the best part of 3 hours in total as everyone kept asking for one more song! Covering hits from from the film Pretty in Pink (wife's fave film), Tom Jones through to the Police and I'm sure someone had him do some heavy rock at one point! Queen hits including a solo version of Bohemian Rhapsody was just out of this world (and the lady who runs their fan club was here to see that one!) But surely the best moment of the night for me was Nick playing Life on Mars in front of my TARDIS when it was all lit up (his set started in daylight and ended late!) Fantastic entertainment and I would highly recommend Nick to anyone looking for that something special for a party, wedding or just an excuse to have a good time with live music!"

"Michael This is an email to thank you for playing at the Flodygarry last Saturday. We are just back from a week between Applecross and Shieldaig which was wonderful – and that is why I haven’t emailed sooner. We were really grateful for you all playing on our big day – and letting us know what we needed to do and when with the dancing! The playing brought the whole ceremony to life and several guests said later how impressed they were with the band, the party and how you helped the day. I know it wasn’t the biggest venue you will have ever played – but it was quite something to hear you all in a small bar on the very edge of Skye. "I was lucky enough to play with Harpist Mascia for several years in Italy, from chamber music to classical and non-classical concerts. In addition to the ability to play many musical genres, Mascia has managed to adapt herself to playing along with the piano, not an easy combination between the two instruments, and this thanks to her musical skills and the speed in being able to play with ease and technique that has always been appreciated by the public and institutions! I recommend Mascia, in addition to her talent as a harpist and musician, for her ability to amaze the public, her long experience as a solo and orchestral harpist, and her professionalism that has proven over the years!"

"...would just like to say how absolutely wonderful Becky was. Family, friends and Celebrant were equally enthralled ... commenting how beautiful Becky's performance was. Becky's soulful, yet pure voice complemented my Sister's funeral service perfectly. Despite the short notice on my behalf (a different soloist had let me down) Becky did a wonderful job of interpreting my sisters favorite songs beautifully, using both acoustic guitar and violin... and my goodness Becky's voice is just heavenly. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a more perfect final farewell for my beloved sister who loved music so much. Thank you so very much to both Becky (such a wonderful talent) and Sarah-Jane (for helping to make the whole process so easy and simple), you both made a day that I had dreaded so very beautiful and memorable... thank you xx"

"I've engineered on some of Tash's shows in various musical guises - from a technical viewpoint she is organised and quick, with strong mic technique and lungpower to carry her vocals effortlessly out in to the audience. Professionally, her genre-hopping versatility is an asset, along with her ability to build a rapport with listeners. Musically, that's a mighty fine rich vocal tone right there. "

"What a super pianist and accordion player. We booked Stephen for our wedding reception and we were not disappointed, he was simply fantastic. All our family and friends couldn't stop raving about how wonderful, warm and intimate his music was and how it set the scene for the rest of our wedding day. Stephens natural talent along with his clear passion was something we all shall never forget. Listening to his wonderful melodic tunes on his piano and accordion and bringing smiles to all our guests, especially us, we all wanted more and didn't want him to leave.
