Lara is a classically trained musician and graduated with first-class honours (Music) from Sir Paul McCartney’s ‘Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts’. She performs as a solo violinist and can offer classical strings on her acoustic violin, but also pop strings on her LED electric violin. Lara can provide her own speaker system and backing tracks and her repertoire list has over 300 songs from classical to pop, film and jazz. She is happy to take on special requests for no extra cost.
Lara has provided the string arrangements for various projects including; Reina Sofía (a collaboration between Berklee Valencia & Reina Sofía conservatoire in Madrid), China Crisis (40th Anniversary Performance at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall), The ELO Show (critically acclaimed Electric Light Orchestra tribute show touring Europe & performing across the UK), The Incredible 11 Hip-Hop Orchestra, The Christians’ album ‘Sings & Strings’, Echo Strings’ private commissions and Sapphire String Trio’s arrangements for Carnival Cruise Line & Princess Cruises. Lara works regularly as an orchestrator for film & TV composer Olly Gorman, projects including four TV series (La doc et le véto, Hortense, Les Meutres en pay d’Oleron & Cambreusse) all aired on France 3 to an audience of over 4.7 million.
She also founded a string ensemble that performs extensively at events around the UK, they have also appeared on Hollyoaks, and Channel 4 & have been featured in OK Magazine. She also runs a String Trio - an electric/acoustic string ensemble that in 2019 completed a six-month contract performing on the Carnival Conquest Cruise Ship in the Caribbean. Lara has appeared as a backing violinist on the BBC1 show ‘I Can See Your Voice’ and has been booked as a solo LED Electric Violinist for events across the UK including holding a residency at ‘City Vaults’ in Liverpool. She is a member of many bands.
She has performed with orchestras & ensembles including; Ignition Orchestra, Gatecrasher Orchestra, Garage Classical, Incredible 11 Hip Hop Orchestra, Northern Session Collective, String Infusion, Bollywood Strings, The Gatsby Band and many more. In terms of musical theatre productions, Lara has performed in shows including; Keep The Change (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), The Last 5 years (Epstein Theatre) & The Silence Between Us (Unity Theatre).

If you're booking violinist with backing tracks (standard) a there is no PA provided at the venue I will require a power outlet, and a small table to put my laptop mixer. Also a room to get changed and store bags/coats etc. If there is already a PA in place or just booking acoustic violinist with no backing then power & table not necessary.

The best gig I've ever done was leading the orchestra on a strings recording session of David Bowie's 'Let's Dance' in Abbey Road Studios, conducted by Nile Rodgers for the album 80's Symphonic. An incredible experience working with icons! The best venue I've played at would have to be the BBC Television Studios.
I love the violinist Nigel Kennedy - he plays with so much passion and shows you can bring your own modern and unique twist to classical string playing. Favourite artist has to be the Beatles and greatest song of all time is impossible to choose just one!
I started playing the violin at the age of 6 and learnt piano and violin growing up. I went on to study music at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts - whilst studying I set up a string quartet made up of members of The Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra who I played with at the time, and also met lots of bands and artists at LIPA. I went on to play in the Liverpool wedding scene where I met other musicians in the city and it just went from there. I slowly built my network up and recorded promo material to get on agencies. I also recently completed a masters degree at Berklee College of Music in Scoring for Film, TV and Video Games.
I love performing backing strings for live shows - I am a member of an Electric Light Orchestra Tribute band where I get to play as part of a string trio backing the band for big theatre shows which I absolutely love. Also I freelance with Symphonic Ibiza where you get to play as part of a 6 piece string section backing the band for festivals and huge arena gigs - which is an incredible experience!

The client can absolutely ask for songs which are not on my repertoire list. For wedding ceremonies I am happy to learn any new requests free of charge. If there are more for the drinks this will be at £30 per song to cover rehearsal time.
