Here at Last Minute Musicians, we love to highlight some of our favourite acts on the directory. Today, it’s the turn of the excellent group, Royal Love Steel Band.
Who are Royal Love Caribbean Steel Band?
Based in Nottingham in the East Midlands, Royal Love Steel Band are an exceptional Caribbean steel drum band that perform at events all over the country.
With a flexible line-up that can include the fun addition of a limbo dancer, the band plays at all sorts of private events, including weddings, corporate shows, and even recently performed at an event at the King’s Palace!
Now armed with brand-new instruments, the band are accepting new bookings for events in 2024 and beyond.
What do Royal Love Steel Band do?
Royal Love Steel Band has an incredibly long set list from which to draw their material, which includes traditional tunes like Spanish Eyes and La Paloma to songs like Island in the Sun and Yellow Bird.
Their line-up includes steel drum players, percussionists, and more, and all of their musicians are highly experienced, having played in various groups and line-ups in the past.
Whether you are planning a Caribbean-themed event or want to bring a touch of sunshine to your wedding or party, Royal Love Steel Band are available to hire.

At Last Minute Musicians, we love steel bands, as they provide a unique musical experience that few other groups can reproduce – and Royal Love Steel Band are no exception!
Steel bands are particularly suitable for outdoor events, as they have a sound that carries well in open spaces and can create a lively and uplifting atmosphere, which is excellent for a drinks reception on the lawn at a summer wedding, fete, or carnival.
The upbeat and tropical sound of steel drums is also perfect for creating a relaxed vibe to get guests dancing and enjoying themselves.
Steel bands are also a very family-friendly selection of entertainment for any event that includes children.
If you’re planning a more raucous event, we love the additional option of a Limbo dancer to really get all of your guests into the party spirit!

Wow – what a find Mr Love was! He came with the delightful Blessing and transformed the school fair. The music was great and Mr Love was a true showman. The limbo he organised was hilarious and got everyone in the mood. He encouraged people to join him playing – my 85 year old mother was a highlight – and was loved by all. “The best fair ever” was wholly down to the superb Mr Love and Blessing. Thank you – I hope you’ll come again!
