About / Biography

Our band bring the unforgettable atmosphere of Dublin’s Temple Bar to your event. Authentic, energetic and packed with character, the band features some of the UK’s finest traditional Irish musicians, delivering a live experience built around exceptional musicianship, audience interaction and a genuine celebration of Irish music.

The band was created and is fronted by Adam, a driving creative force behind the theatre shows Seven Drunken Nights and Fairytale of New York. Drawing on that wealth of live-entertainment experience, All about the Craic! combine the excitement and warmth of a great Irish pub session with the polish and pace of a major stage show.

Their crowd-pleasing repertoire spans much-loved Irish favourites, country classics and modern hits, all performed with an irresistible folky twist. The result is a lively, inclusive show designed to have audiences singing, dancing and raising a glass from the first song to the last.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We need a performance space of at least 6 meters x 4 meters for the full band, for anything smaller we can cram into anywhere but preferably 2x2 meters. We require 4 x 13 amp power sockets and 2 parking spaces.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we’re completely self contained. We bring our own PA system to all of our gigs as well as a lighting rig.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and more importantly the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue and if there is any sort of dress code.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music. We will only provide DJ services for half an hour after our final set.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

As part of theatre shows Seven Drunken Nights and Fairytale of New York we have all played around the world numerous times for thousands of faces. Some of the best gigs we've done though have been at the smaller events where we can have abit of banter with our audience and get them involved.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We love the old tunes from the Dubliners and Planxty all the way up to the more modern acts like the Mary Wallopers and Kingfishr. You also cant beat the classics like 'Mr Brightside' and 'Dont look back in anger'... with an irish twist of course. Most recently our favourite tune to play has been 'C'est la vie' by B*witched which we play as a medley with the classic 'Tell me ma'.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We've all been playing our instruments from a very young age, attending sessions and playing with friends. We all met either at sessions or during theatre tours and the band feature instrumentalist's who are All Ireland Champions and have played with Trad royalty such as Andy Irvine.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

We love the bigger events but our absolute favourite is the wedding or party that goes on all night and we get a chance to get the client and the audience involved, particularly if they'd had a rake of Guinness.

Do you only do Irish music?

Absolutely not! We pride ourselves on being able to mix it up and bring as much or as little Irish flavour as you require.

What is 'The Session'?

The Session is where we bring a little taste of Dublin to your event by having our very own little session at your event. Audience members are encouraged to get up and play or maybe have a sing with us.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We typically arrive 2 hours before the first performance or set. Our sets tend to be 45 minutes long as we've found this to be the sweet spot. We can do more sets or longer sets, but this is where we sit by default.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We're happy to play outside but will need isolated power and level ground.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We will learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 3 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them. We perform a lot of medleys that include a number of famous tunes so chances are you'll hear the song your waiting for.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

A recent review from a client read 'A genuine Irish-pub atmosphere with the pace and polish of a
headline show'

Whats the difference between 5 or 6 piece?

With the 5 piece band you will have Bass, Drums, Guitar, Tin whistle and Fiddle.

With the 6 piece you'll have as above but with a tenor banjo player too bring the truly authentic Irish sound to your event.
