Fantastic musician & a genuinely lovely guy!

We had Ant play at our Beyond Walls Christmas Party and he was absolutely brilliant. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he brought such a warm, positive energy to the whole evening. The music was spot-on, he read the room perfectly, and everyone commented on how great he was.

On top of that, he’s just a genuinely lovely guy — easy to work with, professional, and someone we’d happily invite back again.

Ant really helped to make our day. I requested that he be part of my speech by singing a song for my bride. We had many calls and messages ahead of this to just get it right. We changed the lyrics to suit and he sang and played it fantastic. He would make any special event go with a bang.

Ant was great from start to finish! He took the time to meet before the event to ensure that everything went smoothly on the night. Ant has an amazing voice, which many of the guests commented on and a broad repertoire of songs, appealing to all tastes. He is organised and reliable which takes the stress out of organising a party.

My wife and I absolutely loved having Ant play at our wedding in Marlow in summer 2024. The overall service and approach that Ant provided was exceptional!

I discovered Ant online, and as soon as I made contact, I knew I had the best candidate for the job. Ant proactively suggested a preparation session where he introduced himself, and then set out to really understand and listen to our requirements, so to tailor his offering. As we considered Ant's offering, it was immediately visible that Ant was invested in making our event as spectacular as possible, and it not just being another gig for him. As well as providing a potential set list full of wide-ranging options, Ant highly encouraged my wife and I to include a few requests that Ant would then learn and play to make our day extra special. How cool is that! Whilst I then focused on other event activities, Ant covered all background diligence and activities by aligning with the venue on all logistics, and providing required certificates for PAT and Liability, etc.

On our special day, Ant arrived on time, seamlessly got set up and was flexible to start a little later as our speeches were behind. After the speeches were delivered, it was game time, and then Ant stepped up and delivered an epic set. The overall sound and experience that Ant provided was perfect for the occasion, with Ant effortlessly moving through multiple genres and styles, ensuring the guests were loving it at all times. Ending the set with all guests singing to ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Country Roads’, are cherished memories that we will remember forever.

I highly recommend Ant for any occasion, and I know that in the future, I will be in contact with Ant to play at any special events I will be hosting. Overall, a 10/10 experience. We struck gold with Ant!

Ant was a pleasure to have perform at our wedding! He played for our ceremony and drinks reception and marched the vibe of the wedding perfectly. He is also took the time to learn two songs that were really important to us and was always super friendly when we spoke to him! We only wish we could have seen his performance more as we whisked away for photos! However all our guests said how brilliant he was! Thoroughly recommend Ant to anyone looking for a musician!

Ant was absolutely brilliant. He worked with us in respect of what we wanted and could do within the confinements of our small wedding venue. He played a great variety of songs and we were all up singing along. One of our guests wants to book him for their wedding next year. Really nice guy and made our evening reception a great success.

We asked Ant to come and play at our family party and simply put.. He was Fantastic!! Everybody loved him! All our family and friends were up dancing and singing along to all his songs. He played a brilliant variety of music that everybody enjoyed. We didn't want a full band but wanted something more special than just background music and Ant was exactly that. He even learnt my mum and dads favourite song (which was not his normal playlist!!) and it lit up the room. All communication prior to the evening was great and Ant was a pleasure to book with. I would highly recommend Ant, he made the night.

Ant played at our wedding reception in July and he was absolutely brilliant! I got in touch with him about 18 months before the wedding, and he was very flexible as our plans changed from chilled background music during the drinks reception to getting the party started in the evening. We met over zoom a few weeks before the wedding and Ant sent over his repertoire for us to choose a few songs we liked. We selected about 30 songs and he did all the rest. He arrived in plenty of time to set up on the day, communicating with our DJ to coordinate, and his relaxed nature fitted right in with our wedding style. He played a slower first set as people arrived and then a more lively second set once everyone had a drink. It was absolutely perfect and our guests commented on how fantastic he was. I couldn't recommend him more highly and would definitely book again in the future if we have another occasion that requires it!

Ant was not only brilliant at performing on the night, all of the interactions we had with him before and after the event were a delight. Ant made the booking process very easy, and we had a zoom call to go through any last minute questions before our big event. Ant was fantastic!! We asked Ant to sing/ play guitar to one of our favourite songs (Better together, Jack Johnson) during the signing of the register at our church ceremony wedding. He also sang Elton John 'Your song'.

We absolutely loved his performance and so many of our guests said how great they thought he was!! He sang them brilliantly and gave an extra personal touch to our ceremony.

After seeing Ant at a friends party, we were really impressed and took his card and after seeing him again at a later date at The Ship in Marlow and we thought, it must have been meant to be and hired him to play at our wedding! Little did we know a global pandemic would get in the way but two years later he was still available and happy to play for us.

He had a great repertoire and managed to learn two songs for us (one literally two weeks before the big day!) Ant played for us at our reception and our first set in the evening so everyone got to enjoy some live music and also hear some chilled music as well as some more evening/upbeat songs in the evening.

We can't wait to see him play again.

Ant Barnes played four sets at our wedding this August (2021). It was a small wedding of 30 guests and Ant played 2 relaxed sets during the drinks reception and then 2 more lively sets for the evening after dinner. Ant was brilliant in making sure everything was organised well in advance of the day and we spoke a couple of times via Zoom. Everyone absolutely loved the music and Ant was extremely professional throughout the day. Ant read the atmosphere of the day brilliantly and really added to the day. We would highly recommend Ant for anyone thinking of booking him for an event.

Ant was absolutely fantastic. Aside from being a very talented singer and musician; he is incredibly, polite, versatile and overall lovely.

He had fantastic communication, we spoke on video before the wedding, emailed and whatsapp’d, he’s very responsive. We discussed song choices and he was very receptive to the specific songs we wanted, including learning to play some new ones.

Ant took the initiative on our wedding day, setting himself up and started, before we arrived, for our guests. He was able to be flexible when our timings changed on the day (we had an outside wedding in the UK… It rained when we were supposed to be walking down the aisle still went great, don’t worry). He ran across the field and played without his equipment for the ceremony when we had a break in the rain.

We would defiantly recommend him and 100% hire him again for any other musician needs we may have!

I booked Ant to surprise my boyfriend with a marriage proposal on 7th Feb 2021. He was so professional, friendly and down to earth. Great communication & flexibility before the event. It went absolutely perfectly, how I dreamed and he even learned a new song for us. His voice was beautiful and bless his fingers turning purple in the icy cold wind. This man is a legend & a true artiste. I got in touch with this gentleman to perform a few nice songs while I propose to my girlfriend. Not only did he put his heart out in his songs but he also helped me arrange everything that went into the proposal. From the selection of his songs to the texture of his voice, everything was just outstanding and I'd be ever so grateful to him for making that special moment and evening so memorable!

Ant answered the call to perform an online live stream gig for members, volunteers and staff of Chilterns MS Centre. To say he was a hit would be an understatement, with instant requests for him to play again, and positive comments coming from all involved. He took special requests with one being particularly poignant as one member missed out on a Bryan Adams concert because of the lock down!

Ant is a great performer and has a great range of music to entertain with! He knows how to please the crowd and keeps them happy!

Ant was recommended to us by a friend to play at our wedding and he was brilliant! He played instrumental covers as our guests arrived at the church, the bride was nearly half an hour late but Ant was more than happy to carry on playing and created a lovely atmosphere in the church which everyone really enjoyed. We asked Ant if he would be able to play and sing our favourite song whilst we signed the register in the church. He learned this specially and it was perfect, and one of the many highlights of our day. Ant also performed some covers as our guests arrived at the reception and everyone loved the live music. We were so lucky to have Ant play at our wedding. When we told him we wanted Led Zeppelin’s Thank-you as our first dance, Ant spent his time learning and perfecting his own cover of the song, which when performed was a moment we will never forget from our day.
