Yes, we’re happy to play background music between our sets if required. We can provide suitable music or use a playlist provided by the client.

One of our most memorable performances was at Kedleston Hall, where we performed as part of the Diwali celebrations. The event featured live performances staged beneath Helios, creating a unique and beautiful setting.

We were part of the musical finale, performing live tabla and flute to a large audience, which created a great atmosphere and a special connection with the crowd.

Our performances are inspired by a wide range of music. Mendi has had the privilege of performing with Gary Barlow, Peter Gabriel, and Ananda Shankar, among many others, which has shaped his approach to rhythm, fusion, and live performance. Shubham draws on classical Indian flute traditions while blending contemporary melodies.

We don’t have a single “greatest song of all time,” but we love performing pieces that resonate with audiences, from classic Bollywood hits to innovative fusion arrangements, creating a vibrant, engaging experience for every event.

Mendi is an internationally experienced tabla player with over 30 years of performance history, trained under Indian master Matlashi. He has collaborated with artists including Gary Barlow, Peter Gabriel, and Ananda Shankar.

Shubham is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, and founder of Enchanting Echoes Studios, skilled on bansuri, guitar, Morchang, konnakkol, and algoza. He blends traditional Indian folk and classical music with contemporary sounds, and teaches Konnakkol at the World Konnakkol Academy LLP in New Delhi.

Together as the Bollywood Tabla & Flute Duo, Mendi and Shubham bring rhythm, melody, and energy to weddings, corporate events, and international stages. They have performed at hundreds of events across the UK and abroad, delivering elegant live music experiences tailored to each occasion.

We love performing at weddings and special celebrations! The atmosphere is always joyful, and it’s wonderful to add rhythm, melody, and energy to the drinks reception, dinner, or evening entertainment. We also enjoy corporate events and cultural festivals, where our music brings elegance and engagement to every guest.

We normally arrive about 60 minutes before the performance to set up. Our usual performance is 2 x 45-minute sets, with flexibility for slightly shorter or longer sets depending on the event.

Yes, we’re happy to play outside. We ask for a flat, level surface, some shade, and a power supply nearby if amplification is needed.

Clients can choose songs from our repertoire or let us select the music. We can also learn up to 5 specific songs in advance if requested.
