About / Biography

Claire Rhiannon is a versatile violinist performing on both electric and acoustic violins from classical, pop, folk, and jazz repertoire. She has been performing as a soloist and in various ensembles all over the UK and Europe for over 12 years and has performed in many events including festivals, orchestras, weddings and session work on both acoustic, electric and baroque violin and has performed in Malta, Luxembourg, France, Latvia, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and Spain and has been honoured to perform for a Christmas service at the Royal Chapel in St James’ palace for members of the Royal family in December 2021.
Claire took up the violin with great enthusiasm at the age of 10, in her last few years of school, she accepted a place to study at Yorkshire Young Musicians (YYM) in Hull under Michel Gurevich until she left school to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD).
During her studies, Claire specialised in Early Music performance taught by world acclaimed baroque soloist, Rachel Podger.

Claire Rhiannon loves performing and her friendly demeanour, professionalism and skill are held in high regard by all that hire her.

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I require a power socket if using my PA
Also shelter if I am performing outdoors (from both sunshine and rain) and a parking space


Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I bring my own PA system for events up to 300 guests. Larger capacity may require hiring a PA or using a venue’s PA


What information do you require about a venue?

Directions to the venue and the parking situation.


Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes I can between my sets.


Do you perform on electric and acoustic violin?

Yes, I have a Yamaha Electric violin as well as an acoustic violin.
I also perform on a historical instrument from the baroque era for period performances or events.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I’ve been performing since I graduated from the RWCMD in 2015, performing as a soloist and in various ensembles all over the UK and Europe in many events including festivals, orchestras, weddings and session work on both acoustic, electric and baroque violin


What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I really love a variety but anything that requires a beautiful atmosphere, whether it be an event or a wedding. I just love performing!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I usually like to arrive an hour early but only need 30 minutes to set up and warm up. Performance times are usually between 1 & 3 hours but I’m flexible for whatever requirements you may need.


Are you happy to perform outside?

I’m happy to perform outside as long as cover is provided (from sunshine and rain) and there is a power supply if I’m using my PA


Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I have over 250 songs but I am able to take requests depending on how long I have in advance to learn them.
