Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Performance area: roughly 2.5m × 2.5m (8ft × 8ft)
I require two x 13 amp sockets and one parking space
I require a private space to change, ready for performing

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, I am completely self-contained. I bring my own PA system (PAT tested) to all of my gigs and also bring a simple lighting rig.

What information do you require about a venue?

I need to know any directions that will help me find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. I'd also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, I'm happy to play music before, after and between my sets. I'm happy to choose the music myself or let the client choose the music.

What are your space requirements, and what other requirements do you need?

Performance area: roughly 2.5m × 2.5m (8ft × 8ft)
I require two x 13 amp sockets and one parking space
I require a private space to change, ready for performing

The event is outside, is this OK?

I'm happy to play outside but I ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply (minimum of 2 accessible mains sockets - standard UK 13A sockets) close to the performance area. If you don't have shade, I have a 2.5 x 2.5 metre gazebo I can bring, just let me know.

So what equipment do you use?

Sound System
2 × Mackie Pro-Active SM450 V1 speakers
2 × QTX QT15SA 15" subwoofers
Cintronic CSD-6 mixer
Sennheiser EW-D 835-S wireless microphone

Lighting
Party lighting system with stand

All equipment is professionally maintained and suitable for small to medium-sized venues, providing clear sound and reliable performance.

So how long do you need to set up?

I prefer to take my time with setup to ensure everything is just right — typically around 30–40 minutes is the very limit if there are access restrictions for the client (can sometimes be longer, depending on the venue requirements, I aim for up to 2 hours to be sure) depending on the venue layout. Sound levels and lighting are fully adjustable to suit the mood of your event, from relaxed background lounge music to a lively, upbeat performance. Wireless microphone included for announcements or interaction with guests. I’m happy to liaise with venue staff in advance to make sure setup runs smoothly and all sound requirements or restrictions are met, so the performance is exactly as it should be.

How does payment work for booking a performance?

A 25% deposit secures your booking. Once you’ve confirmed you’d like to proceed, I’ll send you a message with my bank details. After the deposit has been received, you’ll get a message confirming your booking.

All balances must be paid on the day to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience. Bank transfer is preferred, but cash is also accepted. I aim to make the payment process simple and straightforward, giving you one less thing to worry about on your special day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

It is a few years ago now, but I performed at a lovely family hotel on the Lincolnshire coast. As it was a family hotel, the atmosphere and engagement from the audience was fantastic.
The best venue I performed at was a pub in Lincoln, it was New Years Eve and the place was packed, I sang for hours but the mood of the audience kept me up there with the energy! It was a ticket-only event, with a fantastic buffet as well, I don't think I got home before 4AM!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Artists I have been influenced by are Adele, Elton John and further back in time, Gladys Knight, Joni Mitchell and Dolly Parton, these just a few. I love songs that tell a story, I guess that's why I'm also a fan of country music as well. My favourite artist has to be Karen Carpenter, she has a voice that can never be matched, it makes you stop and take a pause...
I think the greatest song of all time is Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell. It just pulls on every heartstring.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started singing when I was very young, talent shows, variety shows on holiday and school musicals. I then moved into amateur dramatics and it was about that time Karaoke hit our shores, I remember those huge laser discs! It wasn't until a few years later, I was in a duo with a friend and we did about a year together, before I went back to education to follow a music performance course, from there I was in a couple of bands through college, before I finally went into solo performance. This was a perfect way to do what I loved as well as earn some money as I then went onto university, and having started a family, a couple of gigs a month was absolutely perfect in continuing my performance dream, as well as earning a few pounds. Now, after a lengthy break whilst I pursued my teaching career, the family has flown the nest to lead their own lives and it's time to get back on the stage to do what I love, and do best...

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

I enjoy the vibe you get at all events, but I love family events, weddings, important milestone celebrations...I love them all, especially when they all hit the dance floor!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I like to arrive about 2 hours before the performance, this not only gives me a chance to set up and sound check, then put on my performance clothes, but to feel the atmosphere of the venue, meet the people and feel prepared before it's time for the show to begin.

Based on my clients wishes, I usually do either 3 X 30 minute sets, or 2 X 45 minute sets. I am happy to extend these times, but of course they need to be agreed beforehand so that the appropriate set lists are organised before the event.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside but I ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area. If you don't have shade, I have a 2.5 x 2.5 metre gazebo I can bring, just let me know.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I can learn specific songs before the event but this will need to be discussed with the client, as of course, there are songs outside my vocal range and I want to my performance to perfect for the event. I do have a set list that I can share with clients so they can chose some as well, or I can perform songs from a particular genre.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

I have been described as a versatile performer who can turn her hand (voice) to many genres, to suit any mood.

What type of events do you cater for?

I perform at a wide range of events, including weddings and wedding receptions, anniversaries, birthday parties, engagement parties, garden parties, private celebrations, corporate events, awards evenings, charity events, pubs, bars, restaurants, and small venue nights.

Whether you’re looking for relaxed background music, an intimate lounge-style set, or something more upbeat and singalong-friendly, I can tailor the performance to suit your event and your guests.

I have a particular era/musical style in mind, are you able to accommodate this?

Absolutely. I’m a versatile performer and can accommodate most eras and musical styles, from classic soul and Motown through to pop, chart favourites, and relaxed lounge-style sets.

That said, not every song suits every vocal style, so if you have specific requests, I’m always happy to chat them through and suggest alternatives where needed. My aim is to make sure the music sounds great and fits both the event and my voice, so you get the best possible performance.

Can I suggest a few songs, and are there any songs I can ask you to avoid?

Yes, absolutely - I’m very happy to take song suggestions, and you’re also welcome to let me know if there are any songs or styles you’d prefer me to avoid.

All requests are discussed in advance to make sure they suit the event, the overall atmosphere, and my vocal style. This way, I can create a set that feels personal to you while still delivering a polished, confident performance.

I have an idea how I'd like the event to run with timings etc., are you able to work with me on that?

We can discuss beforehand whether you’re looking for background music, a more upbeat and dance-friendly set, or a mix of both. You can also tell me if the performance is a surprise or if guests are aware there will be live music, and whether there are any key moments you’d like music for (such as a first dance, drinks reception, or special celebration).
