Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I need one standard power socket and a performance space of around 2m x 2m. I bring my own pedalboard, and instruments. For larger rooms (100+ guests), I ideally need a DI feed into the venue PA or a provided PA with two DI inputs (stereo). For smaller/intimate rooms, I can run through my own small compact speaker, but this must be clearly discussed before hand.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

I carry a complete self-contained rig: acoustic guitar, custom pedalboard, on-board mixer, and compressor. Ideally a PA will be required, but for very small and intimate events I can provide my own amplification. For larger events, I send a stereo DI feed to the venue or hire PA.

What information do you require about a venue?

I need to know the room size and expected guest count so I can plan the right sound setup. Parking or load-in access for one vehicle is helpful. If there is a sound limiter, please let me know in advance so I can adjust levels accordingly.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

I don't offer a DJ or playlist service between sets, but I'm happy to coordinate with a venue DJ or playlist setup. My performance is entirely live with no backing tracks, so there is a natural break between sets.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Glastonbury Festival was a highlight, playing to a crowd who had no idea what to expect from a solo guitarist and ending up with a packed tent. Althorp House was special too, performing at private black tie dinners for the Spencer family over 12 events. The contrast between a festival field and a stately home dining room is part of what makes this work interesting.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

John Butler, Jon Hopkins, Nils Frahm, and Andy McKee all shaped different parts of what I do. Jon Hopkins showed me that electronic music can be deeply emotional. Andy McKee proved one guitar can fill a room. My playing sits somewhere between those worlds. Greatest song is a tough one, but Teardrop by Massive Attack never gets old.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

Started busking and open mics, then built up to private events for clients like Rolex, Jaguar Land Rover, and Guy Ritchie. Played Glastonbury and went viral on Unilad and TechnoBible with over a million views combined. Also one half of The Sci-Fi Soul Orchestra which has seen me working with Irvine Welsh on music for the Trainspotting franchise

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Intimate events where people can gather close and watch. Weddings during the drinks reception or dinner are perfect because there is that mix of celebration and curiosity. Garden parties, woodland stages, and cocktail hours all work brilliantly. The sound fills the space without overwhelming conversation, then builds when the moment is right.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I arrive around 60-90 minutes before the performance to set up. My rig is compact but detailed, so setup takes about 30-40 minutes. I typically perform one 45-60 minute set. Happy to adjust timing to suit the event schedule.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Yes, happy to play outdoors. I just need a flat, dry surface, shade or cover for the equipment, and a power socket within reach. Festival stages, garden marquees, and courtyard settings all work well. If there is any chance of rain, some kind of overhead cover is essential to protect the electronics.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

My set is mostly original instrumental music, so there is no traditional repertoire list apart from a few specific well known covers. The sound ranges from atmospheric ambient percussive pieces to full electronic/techno-driven tracks with a dance feel. I tailor the energy and pacing to the event, starting softer during dinner or drinks and building toward bigger, more rhythmic pieces as the evening progresses. Happy to discuss the vibe you are going for beforehand.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

"A truly unmissable experience." - Carl Loben, Editor, DJ Mag
"Wow, what an unbelievable talent!" - Trevor Horn, Record Producer
