Fionnuala is a Celtic Harpist based in a small village on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon.
She plays a 36-string lever harp made by Tim Hampson out of local yew. Her repertoire includes music by ancient and contemporary harpists, traditional dance tunes and slow airs, beautiful classical pieces, Paraguayan Harp music, film and TV music, and pop covers.
She plays all over the South West for weddings and events, and has been the resident harpist at Two Bridges Hotel on Dartmoor since 2013. Her latest album ‘Constellation’ was produced by Sean Lakeman in 2023 and can be purchased on Bandcamp as a download or CD.
She has performed in many concerts including with Mad Dog Mcrea at Tavistock Wharf supporting Seth Lakeman (February 2019), and her own concerts in St. Peter’s Church, Meavy (November 2019 and March 2025) and in The Blue Ball Inn, Sidford (February 2024). Fionnuala also sings to her own accompaniment and she teaches harp and piano.
Fionnuala has a friendly and down-to-earth approach, and her fees are very reasonable. If you book her for your wedding ceremony, she will invite you to a private audience at her home, if convenient, to choose the special music for your big day. She is also happy to discuss your choices by phone, email or internet chat.

Yes I bring a portable amplifier with me which I use for most occasions.
To know the best place to park to unload the harp that does not involve having to carry it too far.
No.
I can play with battery power for two hours, so if I am playing for longer it will be best to have a power source. Ideally if I am playing indoors being situated near to one would be ideal.
I played a traditional set to open for the fantastic folk-singer Martha Tilston at Calstock Village Hall on 26/09/25.
I have played in many lovely ancient churches and halls, including St. Peter's Church, Meavy where I have performed two of my own concerts in March 2025 and November 2019.
Maire Ni Chathasaigh, Savourna Stevenson, Corrina Hewat, many amazing harpists.
I travelled all over Europe for four years from December 2006 busking and performing in over 150 towns and cities. Since returning to Devon in 2011 I have been playing for weddings and functions all over Devon and Cornwall and further afield. I play every Friday night at Two Bridges Hotel, Dartmoor.
A concert or a wedding which is like a private small concert.
I am happy to play for up to 3 hours, and generally take a 5 minute break approximately every hour. I need about 15/20 minutes to set up, although I always arrive at least 45 minutes early to become familiar with the location. I use a portable amplifier when necessary, which can be used outside without a power supply. I am happy to play outside so long as provision has been made for suitable shelter should it become wet.
Yes so long as a shelter is provided for any kind of wet weather.
I usually discuss my set list with my clients and certainly always discuss special music for wedding ceremonies.
Beautiful virtuoso harp playing.
I can play for up to three hours.
