Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We need enough performance space to accommodate a 6 piece band.. minimum 8 metres x 5 metres. We will also require at least 2 power sockets and 5 parking spaces.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

We are self contained. We bring our own PA system as well as a simple lighting rig. Alternately, we are also happy to plug our mixing desk into a quality house PA or hand sound control over to a venue sound engineer.

What information do you require about a venue?

Directions and loading access
Sounder limiter?
Customer demographics.. e.g. typically over 40 or mixed age group

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

If required we can provide 80s background music before and between sets but not after.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

Festivals are always fun.. not just because you don't need to provide a PA and someone else engineers the sound, but the atmosphere is FANTASTIC!
The best gig was at The Ferriby Festival... what a stage, what professionalism, what a crowd!!!! It was an amazing experience and we had so much FUN... which is what Glory Days is all about!!!

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

We love the New Romantics 80s era especially Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Tears for Fears but we also love the 80s dance vibes of Erasure and Depeche Mode. One of our favourites to play is 'It's My Life' by Talk Talk. As an 80s party band we play all the crowd favourites to get everyone up on the dance floor. Who can resist moving to 'Footloose' by Kenny Loggins or 'A Town Called Mallice' by The Jam.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

The Glory Days vision started in East Yorkshire with 3 talented singers in our 50s harmonising together to fabulous 70s and 80s tunes in 2020, which was limiting due to covid restrictions. We realised we had something special so we recruited 3 further experienced and talented musicians to form a 6 piece band. Our first gig was at our local social club where we played a mix of 70s and 80s tunes but quickly realised the upbeat 80s tunes were the most popular so that is the genre we have stuck to.
As with any band we have seen some lineup changes but now we have the right talent and personalities and we are sounding great!
We've played many different venues for a variety of occasions from weddings, birthdays, award ceremonies, dinner dances, Christmas parties, as well as the local 'bread and butter' pubs and clubs.

What's your favourite type of event to play at?

Apart from festivals and other outdoor events we love playing organised ticketed 80s theme nights. The venues that put on this type of event can vary from village halls, function rooms to specialist event venues such as theatres and hotel complexes. We're not bothered where we play we just love to entertain!!!

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We're pretty flexible but require 2 hours to set up prior to the performance time. This could be the night before or in the day time if local but immediately prior to performing at out of town venues.

We are normally asked to play 2 x 45 minute sets but this can be more or less as we have quite an extensive repertoire of songs.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We are happy to perform outside but need to be sufficiently under cover as rain and electrical equipment don't mix. We would require 2 power points close to the performance area.
We will require a flat surface in the performance area that is big enough to facilitate a 6 piece band and in front for the PA speakers either side in front (when applicable).

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

If requested we are happy to share our full reportoire of songs if the client would like to choose their favourites but usually we are asked to choose our own set list.
For special occasions we are happy to learn a special song, for example, for a wedding or anniversary.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

"Great night"
"I haven't heard that for ages!"
"Fantastic"
"Awesome!"
"Very Professional"
"Brilliant"
"Best band we've ever had here"
"When can we get you back??"
"The crowd loved you"
