The Haysden String Quartet was formed in 1997 by professional musician friends living in Kent and south London who really enjoy playing together. We now also offer a Trio and Duo for smaller venues and budgets.
We are available to hire for wedding ceremonies, wedding receptions, civil partnerships, parties, funerals, corporate events, functions and celebrations. We have played at venues varying from the Imperial War Museum, Woburn Abbey, Claridges, Penshurst Place & Chevening House to a bandstand in a village fair - and lots of gazebos and marquees in back gardens.
Our guarantee to you: beautiful music played for your event at the highest professional standard.
We can provide an elegant and entertaining atmosphere for your special day, playing music ranging from Vivaldi, Bach and Mozart through to Cole Porter, the Beatles and Blur with an overall classical feel. We have an updated range of contemporary music including favourites from Bridgerton.
We are happy to offer friendly advice about suitable repertoire for your function and can arrange pieces to order for a fee.

At least 10ft square is ideal for a string quartet. We are an acoustic group, we don't require electricity. We now usually play from tablets, but we don't require any power for these.
Yes, we bring our own lighting if required, but we are an acoustic group and don't use amplification.
We just need you to inform them that we are coming, and check that they can provide 4 armless chairs for us, and a shaded area if playing outdoors in the warmer months - but we always get in touch with the venue in any case.

We usually arrive between an hour and 30 minutes before we are due to begin playing to set up. Bookings are usually between 2 and 4 hours long, but we do also have a ceremony only package of 1 hour. We will take a 10 min break for each hour of playing, unless it is a 1 hour only booking.
Yes, if it is during the summer months & if appropriate cover can be provided to protect our antique string instruments from the elements. Most venues can help with this. If it's raining , we need to be indoors.
