Immy Gemmell Lush funk, jazz and soul singer for parties, receptions & events

I need a performance space of about 3 metres x 3 metres. I would also require two power sockets and one parking space for me and my car.

I provide all my own kit: leads, mic, PA system and batteries.

It'd be great to know any specific directions to the venue, and the right place to park so I can remove my equipment. I'd also need to know if you have a sound limiter, or if there's no access to power.
If the venue is outdoors too, I'd need to know whether there is any roof protection at all.

I provide a Spotify service before and between my sets which I play through my PA system. I choose the music myself or the client chooses - whatever they prefer.

I've performed at St. Paul's Cathedral to the general public. it was an honour and amazing to entertain such a vast group of people and to bring my sound to such an archaic venue.

I've been most influenced by Scary Pockets: they take the best hits and turn them into funk and soul classics. They make the grooves so strong, so people know the songs and can't help just dancing to the beat! I love their versions of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and their twist on iconic tracks by Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

I started singing at weddings and events in 2014 for select close friends. This grew into singing more public events with bands and other musicians while at university. I kept singing for private clients until I started getting recruited for wider wedding and corporate events. Now I've sung at many weddings, events and parties both in the UK and Europe.

I love playing all sorts of events but cocktail events and drinks receptions are my favourite, whether they're corporate or at weddings. The guests are always excited to grab a drink, chat and do a little dancing. It's easy for everyone to have a fantastic time.

I usually arrive 90 minutes before the performance to set up and soundcheck. I usually perform two 45-minute sets, or I do two slightly longer 60-minute sets. Usually these are good lengths of time for people to enjoy themselves.

I'm happy to play outside but I will need a power supply close to the area I'll be performing in, and possible covering/shade, as it can rain and rain isn't friendly to my kit!

I am happy to learn a couple of specific songs for clients, but I need to hear about those before the event. I have a list of songs, though, that clients are able to choose from if they want to, or I can choose the music for them.

Previous clients describe me as a soulful singer who read the room and brought exactly the atmosphere they wanted, whether chilled out or lively. Above all, they say their guests couldn't stop complimenting my voice.

Absolutely. If your original act has pulled out, or your plans have changed and the date is here all of a sudden, message me. I'm used to stepping in last minute, and I pride myself on making it work.

My core sound is funk, jazz and acoustic, but the songs themselves span pop, rock, RnB, folk and more. Got a favourite song or a particular style in mind? Just ask. I love building a set around the people I'm singing for, and I'll always be upfront about whether it's something I can do justice to.

A stress-free experience, and that's the whole point of me. I've been performing at weddings and events since 2014, so I'll walk you through every step, happily answer any question, big or small, and make sure the music feels just right. Your only job on the day is to enjoy it.
