About / Biography

Joe Le Taxi

Thirty five years on the road with extensive European touring experience, Joe Le Taxi are at the forefront of the Cajun/Zydeco scene in the UK.

Featuring Joe, himself, on vocals and accordion plus the fiery playing of Rowan Bartram on the steel vest scrub-board, this band always set the dance floor alight.

Des Lawson adds adds some cheeky guitar riffs while Clovis Phillips and Fran Gonzalez lay down the grooves on bass and drums.

Joe Le Taxi play a mix of lively raw Zydeco dance music, authentic Creole blues, sleazy shuffles and old-school Cajun waltzes faithfully recreating the dance hall sounds of South-west Louisiana.

This is an ideal party band as the dancers usually invade the dance-floor from the very first song.
