Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever played at?

I accompanied the Dunkirk Little Ships on a commemorative crossing of the channel, and entertained modern-day troops from the deck of one of the original Little Ships. It was an incredible honour and very moving.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Doris Day cannot be surpassed. I could listen to her sing for hours. I love Remind Me, a pared-down duet with André Previn.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I spent a lot of time in musical theatre while at school and university. I then studied classical Hollywood musicals and discovered jazz standards and started gigging after I left uni.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

60 minutes set up, 30 minutes take down.

Performance times are completely flexible.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I am happy to play outside but I ask for shade/cover, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I am happy to take input from my repertoire and learn one or two requests, or I can decide.
