Scottish harpist Morven is a performer, composer and teacher of the harp from the West coast of Scotland, teaching children and adults weekly sharing her passion for music. Morven enjoys playing her Clarsach at a diverse range of venues and travels far and wide to perform at weddings, public and private receptions, corporate events, charity events and various other functions. Morven specializes in writing new compositions for the harp and has recorded a solo album of her compositions. Morven performs as a soloist and as part of ensembles regularly throughout Scotland. She has worked with some prominent bands and has worked on residencies with some of the best musicians in Scotland. Some examples of venues and festivals Morven has performed at: The Edinburgh International Harp festival, BBC Scotland’s Celtic Connections, Edinburgh Castle, House for an Art Lover, Scottish Parliament, Stirling Castle, Cameron House, Boturich Castle, Norton House, Country Club. In 2013 Morven was a BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician semi-finalist and in 2014 Morven gained a Masters in Scottish Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Morven’s Repertoire is vast and includes many popular tunes and she is happy to discuss and advice on suitable music for the occasion. If you have a favourite tune you would like played just name it. Although the Celtic harp does not have the same chromatic possibilities as the classical pedal harp, many classical and popular pieces can still be accommodated. Most requests can be met provided four weeks’ notice and if Morven feels they are suitable to learn on the Scottish harp. I will arrange a couple of tunes of your choice and the others can be chosen off my extensive repertoire list. If you do wish more tunes to be arranged I am happy to do this for an extra fee.
Weddings:
For both religious and civil weddings music can be played at the following points of the ceremony: the arrival of the guests, the processional (bridal entry), the signing of the register, the recessional, and for the departure of guests. Additional wedding packages include options for music for up to two hours during your drinks reception or meal. For background a 2-hour selection of Scottish music, modern music, film music is available. This wide-ranging Scottish and modern repertoire offers much variation in tempos, dynamics and emotions. The music listed is just some examples of what Morven can offer.

Yes, I'm happy to play outside but I ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area. If it is wet or damp I need to be under something. My instrument and equipment cannot get wet or damp.
