The main things we need are a mains socket somewhere in our vicinity and a couple of chairs without arms.
We provide a p.a. Clients are encouraged to let us know if our playing is either too loud or not loud enough.
It would be helpful to know about parking arrangements for one vehicle
Clients are welcome to use our p.a. to play music, so long as they have a cable from their device which has RCA (red and white) connecters for our p.a. Alternatively, we are happy to choose/provide recorded music to play during our break or before we start.
We love playing for summer events and one of the most beautiful places we play is in the garden at Overbeck's, just outside Salcombe, overlooking the Kingsbridge Estuary
We have been influenced by Altan, Kevin Burke, Paddy Glackin, June Tabor, Maddy Prior, The Bothy Band
We met in 1992 and have been playing music together since then. We got married in 1996.
A summer event with the sun shining and everybody having a lovely day!
We usually arrive 60-90 minutes early to give time to set up, sound check and have a little breathing space before we start. We usually play for 2 hours with a short break in between but are flexible.
We are happy to perform outside, so long as we have some shade and a mains socket somewhere in the vicinity.
We usually play from our repertoire, but if clients have any favourite folk songs or tunes, they should let us know in good time, and we'll do our best to include them.
Clients like the mellow sounds of slow airs and ballads, and also appreciate the foot-tapping rhythmic jigs and reels.
