Using high-quality backing tracks to play instrumental versions of unforgettable pop songs or playing Ibiza style (adding sax to the original track), this talented saxophonist offers energetic party sets or chilled background music for a relaxed atmosphere! He has a Master's degree in musical performance and has performed as a soloist and with bands of various genres around Britain and Europe for over 20 years. Performing a solo gig in the crypt at Canterbury Cathedral was amazing. The atmosphere and acoustics were something else!
Junior Walker was great singer and great saxophonist. His improvisations are expressive, but also so easy to understand, even for those who don't know about music. Obviously David Sanborn needs to be mentioned!
I got involved in the local amateur dramatic group as a young child and so caught the performance bug very early. My first musical performance was at the age of 18 but I didn't start performing regularly until I was in my twenties.
My favourite type of event to play is any party where people are ready to dance. I've played big weddings and tiny hen parties and had just as much fun at both!
I'm flexible - I have to be in this job! Timings often get tweaked near the time or on the day.
Setup takes about 10 minutes, but I try and arrive about an hour before the scheduled start.
I do a lot of outdoor events and I love performing outside when it's warm! My equipment needs shelter because expensive instruments and electrical goods don't fare well in rain or hot sun.
Clients can have as much choice in what I play as they wish, from leaving it entirely up to me to choosing everything themselves from my repertoire lists.
